Scarface and Willie D debate his solo Grammy appearance

Despite his extensive solo catalog Mind Playing Tricks is still Scarface's most recognizable song (i.e white people). Like, no solo Scarface song comes close in terms of mainstream popularity. He had to have known he wasn't going up there to perform "Smile" or "Mary Jane." He had to have know there was a pretty high chance he was going to do Mind Playing Tricks.

That's still beside point. Face didnt know he was doing Mind Playing Tricks. Seems like a large chunk of Willie's argument relied on "You knew you were doing that song ahead of time".

But instead of being happy for his brother........he wants him to feel shame and bad for performing. Sound like some hating shyt.
Also, with the song originally being Face's and J Prince forced him to put the other 2 on there, he probably like "this my shyt anyway"
Face's phone rung and Willie's didn't. Not my problem or my responsibility to let you know especially when I don't know what song I'm performing until I get there. Willie be on some fukk the Grammys shyt and the establishment until it's time to be recognized then he feel like he needs to be there b/c the "opportunity was too big". You can't have it both ways Willie and that excuse of he could've been there to "help the brand"....why isn't what Face did qualify as "helping the brand"? The crazy thing is both have performed the song without each other over the years so I'm not sure why he so tight about it.
He sounds jealous and angry IMO but let's keep it a buck. Willie didnt belong anywhere on that stage with Face when it comes to all out legends. He acting like he wanted to perform his whole verse when Face only got to do 8 bars. They had no time for him and I wouldn't have called him either if I was the Grammys.
Why can't you just be happy for your partner of over 30 years and keep it moving? Telling a grown man what he should've done is wild to me especially to a cat who hasn't been rapping over so many years.

Yea I agree that is a little fukked up but I think they spoke about this before the cameras started recording. This gives me deja vu. Seen this so many times in a group and one of the folk—-usually the less famous one—-has that moment they realize they view things more personally then the other
Prime example Shannon and Skip recently (‘you would diminish me to make your point?!’), Jay z and dame, jay z and Kanye, and actually what really triggered it for me is kinda random but Oschino used to have vids where he talked about jay z, and he would always say ‘man if I was worth a billion I would never do xyz’. Here Willie makes that same ‘if it was me’ comment.

Yeah the second video is a better explanation of the whole situation but still think Scarface could’ve at least called and just gave him a heads up, they see each other at least once a week for a podcast about the group. I’d feel like Willie too if in the same situation, no matter what tho, I fux with how they handled this and neither of them are wrong here, comes down to personal opinion ultimately
