The 1st round is the most important pick imho. Most of the league's best players are 1st round picks. I'd rather a GM who hits on an above average to top starter every year than a GM who hits on backups and average starters. It's the difference between hitting on the OBJ's versus hitting some average linebacker, runningback or receiver. Franchise players come mostly from the 1st round.

Scratch that he barely hits 1 per year. The only great players he's gotten us recently is OBJ and Landon Collins. He hasn't had a good draft in a long time.

Geno fukking Smith shouldnt even have a job in the NFL much less be a starter. This is a slap in the face to Eli and we need to clean house. Knowing the Mara and Tisch family however they always do shyt a year too late. Theyll probably wait till next season to fire Macashyt and Reese. This team needs to be blown up and rebuilt starting with management and ending with the o line

Couple more things on Eli Manning/Giants mess, after speaking to sources this afternoon/evening: 1. The Giants' plan is to give rookie Davis Webb the bulk of the remaining starts at QB this year, possibly beginning with the Week 14 game against the Cowboys. They didn't feel it was fair to throw him right into a road game at Oakland with so few practice reps, but they want to see what he's got. 2. The plan the Giants proposed to Manning, if he wanted to keep his start streak intact, was for him to play the first halves of the remaining games and come out in the second for Smith or Webb. Manning's reaction was, "Aren't we trying to win games? If I start and we're leading at halftime, you're going to pull me?" Felt it would be phony, couldn't support the plan. 3. Manning still wants to play and believes there are several potential landing spots for next year where he could jump in and be the starter. I was told he's "been hit pretty hard by this," so it's too soon to know his plans for sure, but the feeling around the situation is that he wouldn't want his career to end like this.

I hope Eli goes to the Jags and wins another title on the back of Fournette and that young D with Coughlin while McAdoo can't even get an assistant job at a high school.

Bortles is a technically broken QB. Eli isn’t and can still have a showout game. Bortles does not have that

Maybe because I’m British and this is common in our football. But I don’t think this benching is that major

We are 2-9, nothing to play for and Eli could get hurt. Sit him, see what Geno and Webb can do for the rest of the season as one of them are going to get dropped for a backup role for Eli next year

Lol it's not about Geno, it's about evaluating Davis-Webb. It's a good decision, I love Eli but it's time. Trade him in the off-season and move on.
