Older generations love that show

It’s like comfort food at this point. I like seeing what Tony and Wilbon say about whatever is going on, while also not giving more than 1 cent of worth to their opinions most of the time. It’s like listening to two co-workers you like talk about sports.

They fly under the radar and make it easier because they don’t go for the ‘shock opinion’ when that’s exactly what first take / undisputed type shows make their money on. Same reason you don’t ever see clips from PTI go viral.

ESPN about to work Stephen A even more hours now!
:mjlol:

Stephen A likes it. He ain't got nothing else to do.

But yeah....he's really doing everything asked because he wants Disney/ABC to give him a Jimmy Kimmel type show. He wants to be the new Arsenio.

Stephen A needs to get it done. I'd like to think he can do better than Lilly Singh. I'd like to think he could revive late night shows to must watch for more folks. I know the personalities of the late night shows ....but I never watch beyond viral clips here and there, lol.

Late night shows are a dying breed and even someone like SAS wouldn’t be able to change that unfortunately.

Kornheiser could probably do PTI until he's ready to slide into his grave, neither him or Wilbon do any research on the situations around certain topics and don't really know wtf they're talking about most of the time. I stopped watching after I graduated college and that was 15 years ago, I'm surprised it's still so popular considering older ESPN franchise staples eventually faded out.

This. I stopped watching these shows in my teens(im 33) when i realized none of these guys actual watch the games to know what they are talking about. Pti, around the horn, none of the guys on the shows actually tune in to non nationally televised games.

At the exact same time people are ditching cable and going for streaming, that is when Disney is going to give Stephen A a late night talk show, when almost no one watches late night talk shows :mjlol:

And he worked for his ass off for that type of clout/status so I ain’t mad at him in the slightest I just don’t know why he pump faking like he’s a “regular” employee when he’s literally the FACE of ESPN.
