That's my point. They have all these shows talking about the same shyt. And why run sportscenter until 11 then go live until 1 just to talk about shyt? How you have a entire channel dedicated to sports but only spend 60 seconds on highlights? That shyt is what pissed me off, at the very least sportscenter should be the highlight driven show with a little humor and leave the talks by points to the other shows so I can can get my highlights and keep it moving. Also I know some of the die hardest hardcore sports fans I don't know a single one that gives a single fukk about post game interviews or mid game coaching interviews. That shyt does not need to be aired live, I wish that trend would die. Better yet have an entire second show that's not sportscenter that just focuses on the post game interviews and press conferences. Hell they could run the press interviews on espn 2,3,4 or 5 and if you care that much just switch over it's the same company. Anyway. Yea they started feeling themselves and got away from what made them hot and tried to cater to casual and women. Same mistake WWE made when they said fukk anyone over 12 and started producing kid shows. Their ratings ain't been the same since

I think that's condition and not natural progression. People got used to having to go to YouTube for highlights and factor in social media and it now seems like that's the preferred way. I still think there are more people that like highlights. Cause what people seem to forget sports fans don't get old and stop watching, shot they need highlights more than anyone cause they can't commit to watching a full game. IMO

I don't think thats all true. There is a reason why they have changed up the whole Sportscenter shyt with putting Smith and Hill on at 6. The whole concept is dying and I think its because people are starting to not watch BECAUSE THEY MOVED AWAY FROM WHAT IT WAS. Sportscenter is still for people of my age (37) and around that age (30-45) and we don't want to check Twitter for highlights and shyt, we'd rather watch an entire show that gives us highlights or we just say "fukk it" and don't watch.

When ESPN News was still around I would watch that because they actually gave you highlights and then it dissapeared. The core fan, casual or not really just wants HIGHLIGHTS. That fan who jumps from team to team (majority of casual fans) wants to see the best plays and could care less about the extra. Take the extra and put it on your extra channels or better yet leave that for MLB AND NLF CHANNELS. Keep a couple of your mainstay shows (PTI ATH First Take and a couple others) but get back to what made you the worldwide leader in sports.

You can still have the banter and opinions but lessen that shyt, Baseball Tonight and Gameday were the shyt back in the day because that was the only time you could catch that type of insight, now you have it all the time with NFL Live everyday. If we want that we go to NFL Network, ESPN just needs to get back to their roots.

I'm sure they moved away from strictly highlights because we get instant highlights on YouTube/Twitter/IG, FB, etc. People used to watch SportsCenter to get their highlights back in the 90s/early 00s. But in 2017, if you want to see highlights of yesterday's NBA playoff games, you'll find it on one of the aforementioned places rather than waiting for the highlight on the next SportsCenter show. It's like asking why doesn't MTV and BET play music videos anymore when we can watch any video on YouTube in 2 seconds.

I don't think there's an issue with not showing constant highlights for an hour anymore. ESPN lost out on the cord cutters (lost ratings and ad revenue), and from making that huge NFL deal when they only show one game per week. Other things like the Longhorn Network hurt, which was bad timing for Texas to suck in basketball and football every season since the channel launched.
