man was basically canned after that shytty ESPNU "Unite" show got canceled. They let Kannell keep kicking, dont know what happened to the female host, but Reese was odd jobs status at that point.

This shyt has been so fascinating to me. Many saw ESPN's fall coming but watching it unfold in a big splash today has been interesting.

And god I hate to agree with Clay Travis but he has a point on the fact too many people simply were put off by ESPN's political agenda. It may have won the station puff pieces and social media love but it did them horrible business wise. Giving Caitlyn Jenner and Michael Sam an award will get you all types of social media praise, but half of those same people praising you damn sure ain't the ones who's business you are trying to keep.

I don't think their political/liberalism is their only downfall though. Simply put, the cable model is outdated.

I am wondering how long cable companies and satellite companies have before they completely come obsolete. By 2027?

oh yeah it was terrible. Not made any better by the fact they thought teens would find Kannell & Waters, two 30 year old men, appealing. The female host wasn't exactly good either, but she was semi attractive if I remember correctly

man, on the local sports radio (not ESPN radio), they were basically saying that even with these layoffs, ESPN overpaid so much for NBA/NFL games, that these cuts aren't even a drop in the bucket. like these cuts wouldn't even cover the cost of airing 1 single NFL game, so basically they accomplished nothing but trying to appease the disney shareholders.
