I'm assuming that it will still be the same as the last time around, but they'll pay out the remainder of your contract as long as you don't get a job elsewhere although theirs wiggle room in side projects you can take. It's why you never Jaws for all those years and why Beadle was never in a rush to get a job and doing everything else but working.

What’s the point of releasing them if they are still paying them? Why not just wait until their contract expires and not re-sign?

Use whatever severance they are getting as a write off for this quarter. It makes the overall numbers look better for the end of the financial year since their salaries will not be on the books anymore.

Yup and not to mention they’re banking on a lot of those talent not sitting out the remainder of their contract and going elsewhere and saving money in the process.

I doubt someone like Key is going to get $5 million a year elsewhere so I can see him sitting out at least for a bit.
