I fully understood them getting rid of the part timers that seemed to be on payroll but appeared on air like once or twice a week on a Sportscenter or Get Up drop in. But I'm confused at them getting rid of the mainstays. I think they're trying to get everybody on that Stephen A schedule where they do their own shows and rotate on everybody else's show. It's fukked up optics to pay Pat McAfee all that money and then start cutting so many people like this though. That show better be a runaway hit.
Those mainstays outside of SAS aren't ready moving the needle like that, so it makes total sense that you replace them at a cheaper cost. Look at a show like Get Up where they can rotate the cast in and out and not miss a beat essentially. As someone else mentioned in this thread, I'm SVG constantly complaining about the NBA didn't do himself any favors.

Marty Smith figured out the key to job stability years ago and all those talent need to take note of that. Even Perk figured it out in showing up whenever ESPN ask and being a reliable hand when needed.

I just went up to Bristol 2 weeks ago to meet with ESPN and honestly this news makes this place scary for me.

It seems you can make a shyt ton of money working there but you have no job secuity and things can change at the drop of a dime. Super high risk, high reward.

My guy gave me some advice: He said you want to make good money but not so much that you stand out as a line item that can be cut.

Welcome to the big leagues.

Get your bag. Manage your money.

You don't want to make good money you want to make as much money as you fukking can.

Cause those people who DONT stand out as a line item...they get cut to.

It won't be

I have no idea what they think McAfee is gonna do

I still don't understand why CBS gave Tony Romo $20 million

Just so he can predict plays?

People been doin that for years but CBS acts like Romo invented it
