I have no doubt Jalen Rose is out after the Finals.
He's been a nomad since Jalen and Jacoby was canceled.
When he started showing up randomly on NBA Today with Malika I immediately assumed he's gone soon.

Oh, Jalen is one hundred percent dipping for The Ringer as soon as he gets a chance. All the stuff he based himself out of New York for ESPN for got deaded. He got booted from Get Up so it can just be Greenberg's show, Jacoby got bushed, so their show got cancelled, and the NBA shows got moved to LA. Assuming the money looks right, he'd be able to make the move to The Ringer, and easily cut down on cross country travel if he doesn't feel like doing it every week during the season.

it's unfortunate for sure, but I'll follow Legs' work wherever he goes

He's not going anywhere. He already said he's been having discussions with espn and will have more once the finals are over about his role and how they can make what he does more seen. He said espn is in agreement.

We will see what happens

Imagine the absurd amount of ass kissing that Greenberg had to do to be in the position he’s in right now :mjlol:

He would be the one of the first guys to get the pink slip if I was in charge of ESPN, that dude is so worthless.

They say the best ability is availability, and for better or worse, he's got it. He's made it clear that he's willing to work ANYTHING they throw at him.

Dead ass, I wouldn't bat an eye if by the time the fall rolls around, due to layoffs and fukkery, he's not also the host of Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, or both. The only thing he's ever willing to blow off is his midday radio show.

For better or worse, they view him as their sports version of Robin Roberts/Michael Strathan and the safe option that they know won’t rock the boat. That’s why they gave him the NBA Countdown spot.

With those Samantha Ponders comments made recently that they’ve been quiet about, they might end up needing a new host for NFL Countdown.

He's one of the few people that I genuinely dislike at the network. I expected Get Up to fail and that he would return to do Mike and Mike. Maybe that was what Golic was thinking too. It's crazy to think that a company guy like Levy may get let go, so they can pay Greeny a higher salary for similar assignments. I guess that is the ESPN way, because I don't see a significant difference between the NFL B team and Aikman/Joe Buck.

Exactly. Samantha Ponder out here trying to follow Sage Steele's example, as if she isn't the first idiot to try to get themselves fired, fail at it, and then file a lawsuit that actually KEPT them there. :mjlol:

Levy is a company man to the point of it being painful to watch. I saw an article on Awful Announcing not too long ago where he was quoted as saying that he knows he could never be an Olberman, Patrick, Scott, or even Van Pelt, so he plays his part as loyally as he can, since he knows that's the best way he can contribute.

Like gotdamn, breh. Of all the mediocre white guys to be self aware to a fault how does it end up being one of the more solid ones? :dead:

That's odd to admit, but he's not lying. He's a basic host for a network show. I can respect that more than what's on the resumes of Greeny, Beadle & Nichols.:pacspit:

Beadle gets a bad rap, but that Get Up situation wasn't necessarily all on her as it's been said by more than one person that she never wanted the job at all and only took it because Skipper kept going up on the contract price. I'd even go as far as saying that Nichols is better at her job than Greeny is a and just a byproduct of the current NBA media landscape.

Yup as a lot of those legacy characters are/have gotten done dirty. Another one is Steve Levy, who will probably be one of those upcoming budget cuts as well.
Nah. Levy is a fixture for NHL coverage and Disney paid a good amount to get hockey back.

If you squint your left eye and stand on one leg while eating a knish Greenberg actually morphs into Bob Costas. I despise Mke Greenberg.
