Probably the worst part about working for someone else. At any given moment they can let you go and destroy your stability for no good reason.
Allowing anyone else to have that much control over your life is a mistake from the jump, but hey, that's employee life. :yeshrug:

And to think most people only work as employees because there's more "security".

It's hard to fathom how ESPN even fukked up this badly...

You had a monopoly on sports journalism. Do you know how hard it is to get a monopoly on anything, let alone a multi-billion dollar a year industry. And yet somehow, you figured out a way to turn it into a loss?

Then when you finally get competition, it's the most lax, unqualified knock-off "Fox Sports" and the best they can do is siphon off bits and pieces of your aging talent.

It doesn't make sense why you would give all that money to the NFL for games that don't matter unless someone at a higher level was seeing massive amounts of kickbacks in return, imo. I think ESPN and sports league CEOs were paying each other off with fans' overpriced beer money, and they upped their kickback rates in a year where sports viewership cosmically plummeted between all the scandals, from CTE, to Donald Sterling, punching women in elevators, Tour De Fraud, etc. etc. So now they're scrambling to make back the money they paid themselves under the table.

Gotta think shows like first take might be in jeopardy

Can ESPN afford to pay personalities a few mill a year for a show that's not getting good ratings anymore?
