Twitter, GDFactoryClips, blogs etc. have killed ESPN for me. Literally no use aside from writers like Zach Lowe who I like to read once in a while. But other than that :yeshrug:

ESPN's problem is they tried to corner too much stuff.
So they just straight up told dude they were going to lay him off...before they actually laid him off :picard:

that's actually commendable. They told him before so he'd have time to get something else. As opposed to the way companies do now, just lay u off 1st thing in the morning out the blue

If ESPN is losing subscribers, pretty much means FS1, NBCSN and CBSSN are losing whatever subscribers they have. People are not just cutting ESPN, they cutting everything.

and as little as I watch ESPN outside of the live sports these days, those other 3 channels you mentioned don't carry any sports I'm interested in, thus I NEVER watch them whatsoever.

No one said revenue is profit.

ESPN contributes the most profit to Disney to btw

The problem is that ESPN isn't increasing its revenues at the same rate it is increasing its cost.

I was interested and looked at the Disney Earning report for 2016.
Disney gets more revenue from its parks than it does from broadcast (ABC) and cable (ESPN, Disney Channel, and Freeform/ABC Family)
Cable Broadcast in 2016 brought Disney16.6 bil revenue , Parks brought them 16.9 bil in revenue

Those numbers for tv networks include, broadcast and cable , not just espn by the way.

Why would you exclude those?
Since we were talking about ESPN and I thought you were saying ESPN is their biggest revenue earner, I went to the lowest breakdown that would include Espn.
ESPN isn't broken down specifically its included in their cable properties and split from broadcast. So I just compared all their cable properties to their resorts and parks, and the resorts and Parks bring in more money than all their cable properties.

Just clearing things up with their stuff, since there seemed to be questions of if ESPN was the biggest revenue earner

They need to cut all of these opinionated shows covering the same topics in the SAME order . Try to sit through Around the horn after HQ , then:flabbynsick: PTI then the corny 6 , which feels like the other three shows smushed together:mindblown:

Don't get me started on the dozens of washed up ex players and executives thinking we should care about their opinions on NFL live and The Insiders :deadhorse:

SVP is feeling himself too much with his evening fratboy show but at least he doesn't drift away from talking about the main, topic at hand SPORTS.

I fukking hate Barry Melrose and the extra attention they give him because he's wearing a mullet at 50+. We don't need two different Hockey segment shows or him either:camby:

Good riddance Buccigross:pacspit:

Like another poster said, once they cut most of these athlete turned opinionators, things will look a lot better on the network.
If it's not in season, no need to talk about the sport 365 days a year. Missed the seasonal reporters they used to have.

That cac bytch on sc that looks like she's always pregnant can go too along with the c00ns and wrenches.

When ESPN News was in HD :ohlawd:

Don't tell me ESPN Classic still exists :scusthov:

That chart lumps all their media networks together

You do know that Disney owns like 20 different channels

If we're talking just espn them no thats not their biggest money maker

exactly. theres like 5 ABC networks plus the Disney channel and you know they eat offa that.

meanwhile ESPN is thrown cash at conferences and the NFL to outbid their damn selves for the rights to broadcast their games.

People can shyt on wrestling all they want but WWE Network is the Netflix of the sports world and does shyt on their terms and STILL pulling in advertisers even tho they have subscribers. ESPN will never have that because of these deals theyve signed with the leagues/conferences

I honestly wish they could retroactively end Broussard's career in totality
