2002 is like a couple years too late...The Great Depression had already dropped (the first X album I didn't cop) and I had basically already cooled on him by that point...now had he died towards the end of 1999, right before ...And Then There Was X came out...let's say What's My Name is released and he's killed before the release of the album on some Biggie dying after Hynoptize but before LAD type ish...he definitely would've got the biggie and pac treatment...DMX and Pac might even have competing death cults
yea. he started to cool off when he dropped "great depression". still had a dope run in '01-03 but he wasnt even the man on ruff ryders anymore by that point. but if he wouldve died in '99-'00, he would be pac & big status.
i actually have him ranked higher than biggie.
Pac was a living legend....He had so many iconic moments when he was alive ,his death isn't what made people love him...
DMX has never been viewed that way...
yes dmx was indeed viewed the same way.
people forget how huge dmx was. i give the slight edge to pac in that category but it was definitely close.
That's funny because if Pac and BIG didn't die, X and a few others would have been career back up team status.
no they wouldnt. its not like now where the industry dictates whos on top and keeps them there for 10 years, no matter how garbage their music is.
the minute pac dropped something that wasnt on par with 7 day theory/AEOM/MATW, he wouldve lost some steam, no matter how good the album was.
and as for biggie, he wouldve caught alot of hate for "life after death" had he lived.
also, i think if pac lived, the hungrier DMX wouldve handed him that L in the battle that wouldve been bound to happen.
