The weak story and auto generated side quests killed it for me. Otherwise, I appreciated the improvements from 3 and NV

Like most Bethesda games it was a mess on launch. Story doesn't really make sense, mechanics are slapped on but not cohesive, bugs out the ass, RPG elements stripped.

That said, patches turned it from a 6 to an 8. Good game but not even the best Fallout game.

The mods

i remember the first one I wanted to try was more companions. Nick Valentine and Dogmeat were both my dawgs that was always a tough decision.

the gameplay is fine but the story is FO3 remixed. dialog options were the factions were they need to just outsource the franchise to obsidian at this point.
