Nah. You can't rationalize this...this is a flop.

If you were working at a label, and you were in charge of this project, and you kept on feeding the boardroom these type of excuses on why this project failed...I would politely ask you to clean out your desk and tell you your services are no longer needed.

That's money a label will never get back flushed down the drain.
Her label isn’t backing her, like that’s why I don’t get why y’all keep commenting and don’t know her situation. Her label put her in remedial class after her early performances and timid sales, they want her to prove herself. This ol self sanctioned ep was an attempt at that, and won’t gain her any favor with her label, but her label wasn’t behind this and doesn’t get held accountable for the flop since they haven’t been promoting her

The ep was wha 5 songs?

1500 streams = 1 album sale

None of the songs had a buzz, barely any promo

I'm not surprised

Don't think she is even a good rapper but shyt is being over blown

Its being “overblown” because she got on radio talking about women run rap over men but she couldn’t sell even 10K.

Saweetie needed a thot anthem like FNF after her Quavo break up. Imagine if Saweetie made FNF and Tomorrow instead of Glorilla. It would've kicked off a Rihanna Good Girl Gone Bad redemption arc that would've helped sell her image and created more of a story for her, which she does not have. She failed to build interest for her music because she's not leaning into the controversy that made her relevant in the last year. She's not purely talented enough as an artist to just sell based on music alone. She needs marketing. Vlad is right that his platform would've helped her

It may be just an EP but these sales are indicative of her standing right now. Saweetie is not some upcoming, indie artist putting out their first project, instead she's been around for a minute.
She has been in a high-profile relationship, is Grammy nominated and has received label backing.

If this is the best she can sell, what makes you think her album would do any better? She does not have a large or loyal audience who care for her music, just ones who like her for her style and that is concerning for a supposed artist.
I’m not a “sales” guy but these excuses be killing me lol. I mean a new girl comes out every month and people will say she’s the “best in the game” or sone shyt. Saweetie might’ve done the most that she will do out here. She might’ve hit her highest height.. or she might surprise us one day and put out a banger. We will never know. I do know that the rap game is cluttered and somebody is going to suffer. We are long past the days when Nicki was the only chick running shyt for whatever reason. Saweetie better go back to the drawing board.

This shyt is wild... artists getting sabotaged left and right... even if her shyt is wack....

I’m not a vlad fan but :sas2: I don’t know how much a Vlad interview would’ve helped her but shutting people out of interviews cause you don’t like the interviewer is wild. It be the same people saying “we don’t need these big media platforms” well if you can’t get the big media platforms and you shut your artists out of the internet platforms, wtf do you think would happen? We see all through this thread that Saweetie has a bunch of followers and followers don’t equal sales. Vlad brought something up that really need to be talked about.

I took some time to listen to her new project today and that shyt is awful, even by "p*ssy poppin rap" standards. On a lot of her verses it sounds like she just started learning how to rap. Saweetie needs to take a major step back and reevaluate her career and artistry.
