they really did.

nikkas always kill me with this plant talk like chance just dropped out of the blue last year. Some time back in 2012 I randomly stumbled upon brain cells from the 10 Day mixtape and I knew he was gonna make it since then. Then acid rap dropped and I had no doubt after that. It's OK if you don't like his music but miss me with that plant shyt.
Not even a Chance fan, but I remember his buzz in 2013, and a couple of my friends bumped Acid Rap all the time back then. Idk why people act like he came out of nowhere in 2017 to win a Grammy. Acid Rap was a popular and critically acclaimed mixtape, and that's what launched his career off

That isn't why people call Chance a plant

If you couldn't tell that Fetty Wap and Chief Keef had no longevity in this game, you are clueless when it comes to assessing music. Keepin' it 100.

No graphs needed, your words say it all.
Where did I say they were gonna have longevity...you can find my posts circa 2013 telling the drill stans keef was gonna flop. nikkas have zero reading comprehension on this board

Why then?
Because as soon as he stepped on the scene in 2012/13 dude got hella coverage on ALL the biggest blogs and magazines, was a headlining or key act at mad festivals....dude shot to the top out the gate. This nikka got kit kat commercials for fukk's sake when cats who been around longer and sold more would be lucky to be in a commercial for their local H&R block

At least it's not the same ol' generic trap. It wasn't bad.

Lmao at that "Cute" video. Don't really have a problem with this "look jolly but still rap about some wild shyt" wave, shyt's funny to me. :manny:

i think the gimmick between dram and yatchy, etc. is the appearance of happiness (supposedly happy ass beats and vibes and smiley face)... but if you listen to the lyrics they aren't really all that positive. its kinda weird

Case in point:
