Cancer can come out of nowhere. 2 years ago my 29 year old cousin said she had some numbness in her hand, doctors found brain cancer and 6 weeks later she was dead :mjcry:

There has to be prior symptoms before. Stage 3 or 4 can’t come out of nowhere, right? There has to be signs early on. Constant tiredness, fatigue. Maybe people ignore it until it’s too late.

My father passed last year from cancer. Started stage 3, had the surgery to remove it, came out clear, then it came back a month or 2 later as stage 4. He was a smoker too.

Unfortunately I don't know if she'd had any signs earlier aside from the numbness in her hand. I don't talk much to my aunt (her mom) or any of my other cousins in her family, and she only mentioned the hand numbness to me the day before she went to the doctor. A friend of mine at work asked me if it was glioblastoma, which it was, and apparently if you get that and can detect it, it's already too late. No one had mentioned any kind of earlier signs or anything like that when I talked to people at her memorial, so as far as any of us could tell it came out of nowhere. I'd have liked to talk with her more about it myself before she'd passed, but her mother got a hold of her phone and wasn't really talking to anyone about the situation. It's a whole mess with my aunt, always

with my dad it started in the stomach. When it came back it was in the brain. I’ll never forget how he slowly deteriorated. No one should see a family member go through that.

I noticed things about him when he got both. He was mentally erratic when it went to the brain. It wasn’t until he fell (due to loss of balance in the legs) that we found out about the return. Forgot the name of the diagnosis (it was a long ass name) but it was a rare cancer that affects 5% of patients. He only lasted about 6 weeks too.

He was a stubborn man, so we don’t know how he was feeling leading up to both cancers. We all should be aware of our body; when things don’t feel right go to the doc ASAP.

I don't personally harbor any ill will towards him, i know he has led a complicated life. but i hope his friends are able to use this opportunity to bury the hatchet. if not he has only himself to blame for being a wierdo. but in any case get well soon Screech.
Hope he gets better but it's wild how much better Jaleel White handled his transition from the '90s nerd archetype.

I think he is another child that was a victim of Hollywood, though not by rape (not sure if he was) but unlike FAMILY MATTERS where Jaleel was allowed to grow as a person by having Stefan Urkel as a subperson, Dustin's Screech was constantly playing the dumbass.

Curly Howard was another one that comes to mind, where as the funniest member of the Stooges, people literally thought he was dumb because of the persona in the films that he came to mind.

Plus going back to Family Matters, Steve had become the main focus of the show as time grew on and thus he wasn't just seen as a nerd, but a very likeable character.

Dustin though always seemed caged in by Screech, and had always tried to break free of it. At least his soul can rest, and I feel sorry he got cancer.

Honestly other than Slater, Carl Winslow and maybe Rudy Huxtable, none of those actors became more than what they were on their show. All of their roles after the show have been B list or worst

Jaleel always Urkel,
Laura winslow where she?
zak morris is still zak morris. I know he try to do other stuff but he still is zak morris.
Theo Huxtable always theo.

:mjcry:Urkel's other girl, Myra (Michelle Thomas) actually died of Stomach Cancer a few months after Family Matter's ended. In the last, 2-part Episode, you can see how she had lost weight from the cancer already as she only had a bit part. She was such an angel.
