Makes sense to turn her heel.
Even before the pandemic and her time off , she was kind of getting a bit cocky in a dislikeable way (the crown and big glasses). Maybe she put request in to try it or someone saw it in creative.
I do think its interesting how with Cena and Daniel Bryan gone, the major stars of WWE are mostly heels (Reigns, Becky, Banks, Rollins, Lashley) and so have to wonder who are they building at the next babyface. Drew is still on the smackdown side but I dont know if they see him as the future rather than the present. Now's the chance to keep a close eye on what they do with Big E and Bianca.

I can’t even think of a younger black wrestler that would realistically fit that’s under contract besides maybe Oddessy Jones or Top Dolla

She wasn't getting any reaction until WWE shoehorned Charlotte into her angle. Things can change. I would only say that neckbeards won't be as incensed because Bianca is Black. Her steampunk gimmick sucked.
No..Becky has been over since the build to Rumble 2016. They turned on Bayley when Bliss buried her at the Extreme Rules match in 2017 but the crowd definitely cheered Becky over Bliss in all their matches. They cheered for Sasha more during this time frame but thats common sense.
That whole The Man thing got over and the neckbeards love it.

Austin went over all the time..so did she. Except fans liked Austin going over all the time, unlike Charlotte and Cripple H.

There might be a small percentage of folk that might boo because they respect Becky, and wouldn't want to make her job any harder.
They can pair her with Rollins for heat. But the E's fans are such smart asses they'll fukk around and cheer both of them to be funny.
After this inevitably fails. Becky should make a shirt that say's "Boo The Man!" or something to poke fun at it failing.
