They ain't doing anything to the NFL, the NBA would be the next sport because it has global reach. If they do go the american football route, then it's to own a team and like one poster said it's gonna be interesting the mental gymnastics or copping owners and fans will do if that happens considering that one of the reasons the NFL and College FB is so patriotic heavy now is because of 9/11.
The NBA already has a global reach, but the NFL's global reach remains largely untapped. Also, starting another football league would open the door to Saudi ownership of an NFL team if that's what they desire. Similar to the PGA and LIV Golf, Saudi's could use the threat of anti-trust lawsuits to pressure the NFL into acquiring the new upstart league in exchange for giving the Saudi's ownership in the NFL.

Nobody cared about NFL Europe they not gonna care about a new foreign league with discarded running backs. They should see if they'd invest in the XFL or USFL and sign away players.

The Saudis deciding to pump money into the XFL/USFL feels like the only realistic scenario for them and football, and even that's a longshot.

It would definitely be a worst case scenario for the NFL. I don't think any high profile QBs would jump but the Lamar negotiation would've been completely different. Someone like Bijan Robinson would be crazy to turn down a 4/80m offer from them vs the 4/20m he got as the 8th overall pick. Saquan and Jacobs would both either be extended by now or bailed already.
They would have to do it through them by throwing out massive offers to the next gen of stars and guys like Lamar stuck in contract negotiations. They could take advantage of the NFL's age requirements by getting college stars like Caleb Williams early.

NFL Europe was like the G-League. It didn’t have any star power. This league would and plus it was before social media. Someone like Odell with personality would spark interest and excitement. And the NFL in London games are often packed.
