Saqon, Dalvin Cook, Josh Jacobs, etc should pitch a new league with fully guaranteed contracts. Poach some aging star receivers like Odell to join. Fill in the rest with backups. The running back and receiver talent would prop up mediocre QBs. And personalities like Odell (who has a fanbase in Europe) would attract viewers. NFL in London games always appear to draw large crowds. New league could be 6-8 teams that play in Europe at major soccer (football) stadiums like Wembley. Someone will agree to stream it since live sports TV content is so valuable right now. Imagine if they could even poach Caleb Williams in 2024 with a mega rookie contract offer.

Lavar Arrington talked about how it could work (around 6 min mark)

Yeah I was also reading how the USFL disrupted NFL salaries. The competition in the 80s forced the NFL to increase average salaries from $75K in 1983 to $230K in '85. NFL was shook after the USFL offered Steve Young $40M in '85.

That'd be great if there were any international market for american football whatsoever but there isn't, LIV basketball is more of a possibility

Really those guys should be praying for XFL/USFL 2.0 to succeed so there's options available for situations like this

That's the point, they would make the market. Personalities like Odell would be necessary to attract international viewers.

Lol you’re gonna pitch a whole new sport to a country?

The saudis are not like complete idiots, they are doing sports washing to affect the worlds view of them. Not just Americas view.

An investment in football will be in the US, possibly to have a game over there so that the financials make sense. Not to spend money that could be a competitor to NFL, too low sports washing value and too costly to make sense financially

It's easier to do with a sport europe/africa is already watching and enjoying.

Creating a whole sports culture for them from scratch is possible but it's more work. Basketball would be basically plug and play globally.

True but it would be a lot harder to get top NBA players.

Why not? Again, the new league would be heavily personality driven with players like Odell. And having games played in a central location (Europe) would allow more people worldwide to watch.
