All you gotta do is if you got itunes/spotify etc
Is

For instance if you wanna sample 80s rave, you type that in and the popular artists gonna come up..
But always look for similar artists who are less known...
You can easily have a library of artists that go under the radar and can practice your sampling..

Its digital digging in the crates:yeshrug:

You produce?

If your flipping skills are nice you can make anything sound decent to amazing.

Love this track...:wow:... sample sounds like it was made in prohibition days and recorded 5 years after first record player was created :banderas:

That's a Bill Evans sample from 1968. The stuff on that website is from at least 75 years ago because that's when copyrights expire. So it's gonna be some WWII era stuff at the most recent. Artists like Billie Holiday were active at that time but I'll bet someone renewed the copyright on her stuff and anyone else worth a damn from that era.

Man I be sampling the hell out of shyt releasing tapes and shyt lol. Apple Music and Spotify and all them inspect the tapes but they must be using shytty software or something cause my shyt be getting approved with no issues. Nobody knows who I am though and not a lot of people will hear the music, so I don’t gotta worry about someone I sampled finding out.

I’ll probably dig through this to see what they got. I need to go get me some vocal samples and audio clips more than anything

Haha oh shyt. I heard producers don't have to worry unless they're earning big money off the samples.

That's in a way what dope as a free agent. You can be as creative as you want. No limits.

People said Rza got so scared after being or thretened to be sued that's when he stopped sampling.

Someone should ask him directly why he stopped.

this is not true.
rza had to alter his workflow because he lost most of his work.
plus it occurred at such a pivotal time.
that given the circumstances, Imo rza started to use the workflows of the devices he migrated too.
after the disaster he endured. Plus sas a prisoner to those workflows of those new devices in a change of medium from analog to digital as well.

him and qtip went through similar disaster of a fire/flood.
that set them back in a pivotal time in the history of the rap industry.
plus why things are the way they are as well.

you don't want anybody socalled worth a damn to pop enthusiast.
you want What any artists provided sonically.
to use as a tool to a means.

it may not even be a sample you get from digging.
it could be how a particular instrument was mixed you found and surveyed. That enables you to learn to up a skill from.

diggin is not always about finding an actual tangible sample.
diggin is made most importantly to enrich.
that which you do not know well or at all.

I read what you said Art Barr.

I know of Rza's flood. He lost Deck's solo album.

Did that not occur around 1994?

Rza used samples up to I believe 9th Diagrams.

More heavy up to Supreme Clientele.

It doesn't matter what "workflow" or "equipment" is used.

It's like some is either incorporating samples, or live instrumentation.

Necro said it best. Sampling IS an art.

Hip Hop is working samples. I don't think I ever liked live instruments in hip hop. Unless done right. 90 percent of the time it sounds too lite for me.
