Different strokes for different folks :manny:

I watched it a few days ago. Still like it.

When I first watched it, I was :ohhh: for hours after i found it was 2005 instead of 1695. I never would've expected that shyt.

I disagree, Signs is a damn fine film. I ain't even mad about the plot holes. Them aliens invaded a water filled planet because they're about that life....:birdman: :yeshrug:

I'd go as far as saying that The Village is excellent up until the second (And absolutely ridiculous) twist. Should have just kept it as a period movie.

the twist in the village is ridiculous but you excuse aliens who can not get wet and open doors even though they have hands. :what:

Damn you must really like signs.

I'd agree, 'Unbreakable', I thought that shyt was ill when I saw it when I was 15, I think I saw it twice in theaters, the twist actually was good, and the story, acting, I thought it was great.

I never saw 'The Village' all the way through, I bought a ticket to it in August 2004, trying to sneak into 'Collateral', I was 18, and without id, so I watched like 15 min, and then left...I wanted to see it too, I just never got around to it, until like a year later, in 2005, I was with a girl in her room, and she threw on 'The Village', maybe 30 min in and I was sitting there like an idiot, watching, and she just stared at me, drunk, 'Are you really going to watch this'? And, I never saw the rest....

It's not a matter of realism or even logic.

You're comparing plot holes to a plot twist. They are different, they have a different effect on my liking of the movie. The plot holes in Signs can be either ignored or explained away in some fashion...it's a movie about aliens, so you have to suspend your disbelief anyways.

The Village didn't have plot holes per-se, it's just the the entire story is ruined by the premise that it all took place in the modern world. It's a twist that, in my eyes, served no thematic purpose...it was the cheapest "gotcha" imaginable. Shame, because it really does have some good moments in it.

But yeah, I do stan for Signs, I just think it's a very well done genre movie, regardless of whether or not it had some questionable logic....:youngsabo:

I figured out the twist to the Village about 10-15 minutes into the movie so I had the :manny: the whole way through.

Signs was solid.

6th Sense and Unbreakable :noah:
