This one is tough, but Billups was clearly better but Cassell was always that piece that helped teams win.
Sheed was a superstar, and Rip was good for 20 wherever he played. Matter of fact, Sheed was the player that took them over the top, not Billups
And if I dont sell, and plans should fail, man it'd get ugly like Sam Cassell
I always thought those nikkas looked just alike.
I watched him play on EVERY team from C's, Tor, Denver 2x, Min...he couldn't shoot. I did say he was a great leader. He could orchestrate the offense and run a team, but he wasn't great at anything offensively. He was failing as a NBA PG and they used him as a combo on a couple of those teams. When I say court vision, I'm talking about from exceptional passing...seeing a man out the corner from the other side of the court. I think he only has 2 seasons over 7 apg. One season in Det when he was at 18 & 8, but he was good for about 14 & 5 regularly....which is pretty average for a starting PG. I still think he was a great leader. But let's be real, he overachieved.
Billups was regularly under 42% FG. I don't even have to look this up. That's a good shooter? He was horrible. His jumper was on Kidd status...Brevin Knight status... He could bully his way to spots, and was big enough to shoot over people but bricked a lot. Hitting some clutch shots doesn't change dude being at 40% on FGs.
"I throw the clip in the blicky and start airing shells
and have his eyes sitting on the side of his face
Sam Cassel"
Yup!Sam I am no question. First off, B b b billups was a late blooomer. He had a good what, 5- maybe 7 year run in Detroit and Denver (end of his career). Sam i am was lethal from the time he came into the league. Won just about everywhere he went. Rockets- Championship Bucks- ECF. Clippers- Won. Timberwolves- WCF. everywhere Sam went, TEAMS GOT BETTER. hell man, the one year KG actually had team success was with SAM AND spree. The fukking clippers man. Elton brand couldn't win crap. Sam got there. THE WHOLE CULTURE CHANGED.
That's a good thread idea.Sheed was unguardable. Period. Ask KG, Duncan, Webb, Dirk, JO, Reef, Dyess..none of them could guard Sheed, especially on the blocks. That's a superstar in my book. I said in every thread about overrated/underrated that he and Manu are the 2 GOATs-with-the-worst-Stats
