"I think, personally, the flag is the flag," he said. "Regardless of how you feel about things that are going on in America today and things that are going on across the world with gun violence and things of that nature, you've got to respect the flag.

Did you expect a slew of players to come out and support what he did? Cam newton showed us a two weeks ago with his comments that everyone only cares about their own bottom line. Even if kap was coming off his SB season, whites would've still perceived his message the same. Trump says weekly about how bad America is and how he will make it great again without a concrete plan to "fix it". He can't even get his damn immigration policy on track.

As far as what kap did, I feel indifferent about it. I salute him for doing for the reasons he stated but the problem is what now. Half of the lockeroom wanted him gone last year so they won't come out and support him fully and neither will the league. The dominant society as this thing about how if any minority speaks any ill of America then they should simply leave. From a professional standpoint kap's career may be over because they will never let this down. I think he should get out of SF and get a fresh start elsewhere.
