"I'm in support of anybody who has convictions to believe in something and willing to pay the price and take the lumps and take the hits, and the backlash that's coming from it" Scott told USA Today's For The Win at an NFL on CBS media event.
Scott compared Kaepernick's outspokenness and activism to that of the late Muhammad Ali and other black athletes who came before him.
"I think the death of Muhammad Ali has stirred the pot," Scott said, via For The Win. "It has moved the needle to where athletes are becoming socially conscious. They're not concerned about the bottom line. They're not concerned with their dollars. They understand that they have a voice and (they're) almost ashamed of how they used their voice in the last 20 years since Jim Brown, Lew Alcindor, Muhammad Ali stepped up for social change. Now, guys are ashamed and I think they're going to try to do something about it."
"Because at the end of the day, the violence, the injustice, it's only a matter a time before it knocks at your door," Scott continued. "If you don't speak up and you turn a blind eye because you're good, because you have a great home, your kids go to a great school. Eventually, it's going to knock on your door, you're going to have to deal with it. So you'd better be proactive."

Have you noticed?...
....They want us to protest in a passive, quiet, and peaceful way that doesn't inconvenience anyone or put anybody to shame. In a way that doesn't offend a soul, while being specific in our goal and detailed in our claims. They want us to express discontent of not being acknowledged or noticed in a way that goes unnoticed. To take responsibility in our part first, before they feel like we've proven our stance enough for them to do the same without the same focus.... Have you noticed?
