I hope Chuck D got paid for this shyt.
These are supposed to be gang members but every single one of them looks like they got a curfew at night and midterms in the morning.
What is with the hipster teenager vibe in some of these games now? Does that demographic even want to play this shyt?
Game looks like Kid Ink and Flo-Rida will be all over the soundtrack instead of Beanie Sigel and Apache.
Why does this shyt make SR3 look like a masterpiece in comparison?
What a disaster
Breh, it's not just games, but entertainment as a whole right now. There's a significant wave of entertainment featuring younger people as protagonists that look like these characters that are popular. There's probably a variety of reasons as to why, but I think it could be chalked up to two things. One is that people in the audience that see these characters as versions of themselves are far more active consumers of entertainment than most other age groups. The other is that content that features and is aimed at older/more mature audiences is starting to get pretty narrow in what it's about.
Nearly everything is about how marriage/corporate America/the legal system/your role in the economy fukking sucks, and content that strays from that runs the risk of getting shyt on for not being grounded, or realistic. It's a lot easier for you to get away with something lighthearted, with an "everything will work out in the end" type resolution if the cast looks like it came out of a CW show.
That said, I'll wait until there's some actual gameplay to work with. That trailer wasn't good, but CGI trailers don't really mean a whole lot to the game other than introducing character models. And even then, that shyt can change if it's that big of a deal.
Y’all acting like this franchise was always a complete shyt show
Saying "always" is a bit of a stretch, but if we're being up front, they have one or two games where they seemed to have gotten the balance right. Almost everyone agrees on SR2, SR3 is iffy, and even a lot of people who liked SR4 agreed that it was time for them to switch it up on the next one. If you count Agents of Mayhem, that's a 2/5 ratio. If this new one comes out and isn't good, it might be time to accept that this is a bad series that managed to get a couple of good ones out there.
