Have patients...It took 2Chainz years till anyone paid attention to him like they are now.

No...the only different between is that 2Chainz is whack, no talent that's why he's getting all attention. Talent won't get you anywhere...sadly. That is new rules Hip-Hop now....You whack = You get money = Attentions.

I feel you but you only have so much time when youre buzzin man. :beli: That was during a time where nikkas was still selling too. What I'm saying is he deserved to have that traditional major push. Both he and Lupe were on Atlantic if I recall. Both got the Jay-Z cosign. But only one made it :to:.

The Buddens and Mobb Deep shyt was late too. He shoulda dropped in 08 latest...All that was after the fact if I remember correctly.

Lupe got Jay's co-sign but not really Saigon

Jay threw him a verse he already laid cuz he was stealing a bunch of Just Blaze beats from him

and he mentioned Sai on the radio once

not much of a co-sign

He was way overhyped. nothing special about him, I would have rather seen Ali Vegas blow up

@smokeurobinson Yeah Just doesn't have Kanye's clout... not even close. Those 3 jingle songs did make it on the album though (Believe It, the two girl records, etc.)

The biggest problem with Saigon was that he's not good at being both gangsta and conscious... he goes from super gangsta to super conscious which makes no sense... if you're gonna play the middle then do that but if you go 100% left to 100% right you'll never find an audience

the best coast
it is a damn shame he hasn't blown up yet. he's put in more work than most of the bums in the game and he's a good rapper.

the whole delay of his debut lost a lot of support he was starting to gain back in 07. for awhile it seemed it would never drop. if it came at the time it was expected to, he might have done better sales wise, i do think it's one of the well put together albums in years- my personal favorite album period. i think that it's alright, clap, and believe it had a chance to blow as singles back in 07-08 when it was supposed to drop.

saigon while good with the music, has a tendency to speak reckless sometimes and that gets him in hot water with other artists and potentially the label (atlantic) that he was signed to. he sometimes says things with conviction then turn around and do something that's completely 180. just blaze fell back from that, and i personally believe saigon wants to establish himself beyond just blaze a la raekwon with not using rza after cuban linx. thats why he running with his goodguy gang and own in house production.

i think the issues with atlantic humbled him but he seems to be doing good indie. i think he rather have his creative freedom than the fame while not having full control of his message. he still say the release from atlantic contract was 82 pages lol them dudes still eating off him.

Who cares if he didn't blow up. As long as he keeps putting out great music, and able to tour, then I'm quite sure he's fine.

Then transition from Enemies into Friends :lawd:

This is the Just Blaze I love though. That Compton track was a poooor mans Why You Hate the Game to me. That Exhibit C TMD is what the world is missing right now :wow:.

Greatest story never told, friends, enemies, clap, find a better way, give it to me, the invitiation...beautiful music. zero skips

exactly what I was thinking. maybe even give it to me. If songs like Dreams could make the top 40 ...why not a song like Enemies-Friends? Not the same shyt but just shows how drastically times have changed.
