Yea hiphopis good and shyt right now. But I cant help but feel like Saigon should be getting a share of the fame and acclaim. It's all kinds of fukked up what happened to that whole freshmen class :mindblown:. Lupe, Pap and Saigon all jerked.

I aint complaining about anything. But I remember back in 2005-2007 you could not tell me shyt about Saigon and I think he's still better than any rapper thats come out since (INCLUDING KENDRICK whos my 2nd favourite current rapper). shyt I remember having his jail cell album cover as my avi on SOHH. I mean...an labum with SAIGON AND fukkING JUST BLAZE EXECUTIVE PRODUCING?!?!?!? :why: A dream. So naiive I was to think that shyt was dropping :wow:. The only rival in my opinion is freddie gibbs. That was when hip hop took a turn and the Greatest Story Never Told dropping last year proved it. To me that album is bettter than anything in the last 5 years outside of: Watch the Throne and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Amazing song and concept as a whole album. Just phenomenal.

Why did Atlantic fukk it up man :smh:. He was the perfect blend to create a rapper. Eminem --> 50 Cent --> Kanye --> Shoulda been Saigon up next. Just Blaze :to:

PS: Sorry if this thread isnt the most intricate...just had a medium pizza and two cherry pepsi's. Feeling the itis. :russ:

it's his fault, should have never made mobb deep pound his head and chase him... that kind of ruined his rep.. then joe buddens totally having no respect for him just made it even worse. :to:

i never thought he was all that nice anyway tho, so whatever. jay electronic being literally like 36-37 and not even having an album yet is a bigger blow #pause

Why do we blame the labels for a rapper not blowing up? It's no excuses when you got the Internet.

Not knocking the homie because he's dope.
I feel you but you only have so much time when youre buzzin man. :beli: That was during a time where nikkas was still selling too. What I'm saying is he deserved to have that traditional major push. Both he and Lupe were on Atlantic if I recall. Both got the Jay-Z cosign. But only one made it :to:.

The Buddens and Mobb Deep shyt was late too. He shoulda dropped in 08 latest...All that was after the fact if I remember correctly.

I can't speak for everyone, but I would've never fukked with Lupe if I hadn't downloaded his Fahrenheit 1/15 mixtape series.

You can't tell me nikkas was actually buzzing off of his "Touch the Sky" verse :ehh:

The Internets pushed him.

idk i though MBDTF was pretty wack. nothing too special from that album
College Dropout is Kanye's best album eh? :comeon: Wrong.

Nah really though, we are entitled to our opinions but to me the quality on his last album surpasses all of his others. Easily. I dont even consider College Dropout a classic anymore. Besides Two Words and some other songs I cant really play it like that :manny:. Late Reg and MBDTF are different stories. I mean:

Dark Fantasy
Gorgeous
Power
So Appalled
Hell of a Life
Blame game

Put those in an EP...and I'll still probably say its better than anything in the last 5-10 years :whew:. Those songs are undeniable to me. Thats just me though.

Sai said he had label problems because he didnt wanna give Atlantic 3 cookie cutter radio songs. I kinda respect dude for standing his ground as an artist but in the end it cost him that major push that could have seen GSNT gone platinum. My question is...where is Just Blaze in all of this?.....Dude for the past few years has been pushing Jay Electronica more then Saigon. I remember getting excited over JB interviews cuz I wanted updates on Saigon and he wouldnt even mention him.....Like I said it seems as if Just blaze either doesnt care or he lacks the gift(and possibly clout) to push his protege the way Kanye does Big Sean.

Its a shame. I dunno I feel Just Blaze with his resume coulda mediated the two and delivered the radio songs that were needed but without the songs being soft.

He's laced Camron (oh boy), Joe Budden, Kanye (touch the sky) and Fabolous (breathe) with top 10 singles that remain classics and they aint no pop bullshyt (Okay I lied about budden :lolbron:). He couldnt do the same for Saigon though? Maybe Cmon Baby was his entry but still...

Peace. Honestly i believe Sai and Just have a strained relationship. Im just speculating but i remember when both of them were vocal about how they use to fight...alot and frequently. Then i started to notice on twitter that Sai would say stuff to Just like i love my brother just and stuff, and Just don't say anything back. It also shows on the new album Just lack of input on the album. I don't think they really get down with each other anymore. Well Just don't mess with him to much. Also with Jay elec, Just explained who they don't work together anymore because Jay elec is a free soul and changes his mind too much. So you notice that they don't talk as much until recently and the only person that talks about him is young Guru. Just said they were back in the lab working again....I was told from somebody i know that at first, the whole jay elec album was mostly Just Blaze, some Dilla stash beats and a little more from a few outside producers. I was told this is the version DJ Vlad had heard. Then Jay being the free spirited person he is totally changed the direction of the project Which is why just was not on the version that was handed in to the label. But they are working together now which could be why the album is still on hold. None of this info is solid tho, just saying what i noticed and heard. Peace yall
