It's weird but even though I've been down on the DCEU to this point and I'm not looking forward to Justice League, 3 out of my 4 most anticipated comic book films are DCEU films. Wonder Woman 2, The Batman, and Aquaman. But I kind of want all three of them to be stand-alone-ish and not connect to any larger DCEU narrative.

To that point it feels like I'm done hoping for a DC connected universe because they already blew it with them coming together in the first place. I don't know if WB is going to stop with the DCEU but it sort of feels like they should, or at least don't emphasize it as much as Marvel. I got super excited when Reeves said his Batman would be stand-aloneish. I'm hoping it's the same for Wonder Woman 2 and Aquaman. But if that is the case, why have the connected universe at all?

Why do people keep saying in here that "Snyder can't tell a great story". Snyder is a director. He's not the screenwriter. He has ideas where he wants the movie to go and then the screenwriter pens the dialogue and everything else. Or often times the script is already written.

There was nothing wrong with the story that was told in Batman vs. Superman. It was the editing that fukked up the theatrical cut which again is not Snyder. The director's cut was far superior.

I don't get the MOS hate either, It's hard to do an action movie without the use of weapons. The character is the weapon, so it's hard to do a Superman movie because except for kryptonite, he's unstoppable. What made WW a good movie? She had weapons. What made Batman movies good? weapons. The storytelling argument doesn't really hold up because they have decades of source material to draw from. A prequel about Krypton would be dope like an earlier poster stated.

There was plenty wrong with the Bvs story and script. It's actually a pretty bad story but Snyder makes the movie watchable because of his style and it's a great looking film. That's credit to Snyder. But I definitely think they fukked up the script and casting for lex. Love the end fight and third act. Everything before is pretty dull.

Snyder has some skills. This scene right here was BEAUTIFUL. JUST BEAUTIFUL.

MoS was cool. It took a 2nd watch but I can confidently say I like the movie now.

BvS as some have said was just wayyyyyy to rushed. They were trying to fast track the universe instead of letting it grow organically. Let Supes and Bats develop a relationship first before trying to do a Bvs. It came off forced but it was actually a decent story. You just have to buy that Luthor is a SUPER GENIUS for the plot to make sense but once you do it all makes sense. Lex simply knew and planned almost EVERYTHING......yeah they rushed the Martha thing too but I get the point. Batman realised he was being an Ass through a personal coincidence/connection. Im at piece with it now......but yeah they shyt the bed.

WW was generic but after BvS it was just such a breathof fresh air.

Suicide Squad was trash but it was FUN to watch......but yeah it was trash, plot trash, pacing trash.... Wish they had just done the live action version of the animated Attack on Arkham cartoon i saw a couple years ago. That was piff.

:mjlol:

I can't see how someone could like MoS yet hate BvS. I think both are trash but Superman had a personality in BvS. He even spoke more:mjlol:. Y'all really love that "looking mournfully off into the distance" Supes did throughout MoS?
:dahell:

Are u saying Supes showed personality in BvS?:pachaha: He was a lifeless bore in both movies but especially in bvs.

:manny:this me saying what good I can about BvS. This movie had a few moments when Supes was considering his place in society and his opinion on the world. Before it really got deep, Snyder literally blew the movie up. From then on Super was just fighting ppl.

MoS never had those moments. It's just a series scenes where father figures telling Clark what to do and what his moral compass is while Clark looks mournfully off in the distance.
