According to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review:

Wallace was offered a 5-year deal in the range of $50 million, but he decided that wasn’t enough.

this is the reason I will never knock NFL players for holding out or redoing there contract every off season. See how the NFL will dog you??
How is this a case of a player been done wrong when there's been a long term deal on the table for Wallace? It's not like the Steelers weren't willing to give him a long term deal, he just wasn't satisfied with it. I suspect that the deal he left on the table was bigger than this one.

1st off, to the dumbazz that made the statement that the Rooneys are racist, :pacspit: they the ones that put the every team has to interview a minority coach, thats like saying Harriet Tubman had the :mjpls: face. 2nd, Wallace has a year left plus an option for next year which means he's a Restricted Free Agent so the Steelers hold all leverage even after this year and could still franchise him in the offseason. I'm irritated at him cause he should know how things work in the Piff, look at Hines in his prime. He tried to hold out but ultimately realized you playing card with the house, you aint gon win in the end, its what makes the Steelers and the Cheatriots consistently good. Letting these players know whos boss. We aint cashing you out then having to suffer losing players, you are a Wide Receiver, 1 man. We are Team oriented. Prove that you are more than just a deep threat. No they didn't give brown that deal to fuk with you, they've been working with browns agent for a minute now. Brown and Sanders are RFA's after this year too, and have a lot of promise. What people fail to realize is that Sanders is better than Brown, he just was hurt majority of last year. If we sign him we can save money, Wallace needs to realize he is a lil expendable. That being said, he'll be back in Latrobe next week.

I picked Brown in my fantasy league last summer, so I was big on dude coming into the season, but Wallace is a unique talent. His speed off the line is incredible. That said, the Steelers could be good with Brown as the #1 receiver, but would y'all really then take the chance of using him in the return game then? But if you don't you're missing out on his great special teams production.

I've watched every snap each player has played in the NFL....Wallace is a straight burner and cannot be caught but he also thinks too highly of himself he is not worth Fitzgerald money he also isnt as quick as a Desean Jackson ... but Antonio Brown is more of a Chad Johnson all around guy but extremely humble and the hardest worker on the team. Barring injury 5 years from now Antonio Brown will be one of the best Steelers WRs of all time.

for the better of the Organization, you need to see things from a management standpoint than a lower level employee standpoint. You have to make sacrifices for the better of the business

I don't have the numbers on deck, but I remember feeling like Wallace pretty much front ran last season...first half was great, second half not as much, while Brown was more consistent.

And yeah, the Rooney's don't fukking play games because our organization makes stars, we don't buy or trade for them often.

I fukk with Wallace, but he can kick rocks and we will still be playoff caliber.

I get to watch a good amount of DeSean, being a Giants fan, and if he's faster the difference is negligible. For what it's worth Wallace ran a 4.33 and Jackson a 4.35. Plus Jackson is undersized, injury prone and unpredictable in a bad way. Honestly, only three or four cats deserve Fitz money imo, so I agree with you there. Like I said, I was big on Brown going into last season and can understand thinking he'll wind up more well rounded, being the better route runner already. But Wallace has proven to be a game changing receiver already with those deficiencies you brought up. Hard to not see him just getting better.
