Ultimately ratings should matter in terms of their influence on future booking plans.
I mean, ratings lead to money, but only if the proven ratings draws are used in better and more productive ways going forward.
So why am I not particularly interested in the numbers? Because they're often either ignored or misused by those in power. A guy draws numbers, theoretically he should get pushed hard; in practice, sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't. I actually think backstage politics has a bigger role in shaping booking plans than ratings do, but that's beside the point of this thread I suppose.
I come here for the creativity, insight and comedy. The ratings numbers? Meh. But to each his own. This place has all types and that's a positive.

ryback opened the show if punk opened the Show he would of done the same lol at them combining the divas match which always loses viewers with a 3 minute or less punk in the hallway talking interview .

1. Legendary.Its a forum breh. its wrestling, porn, sports and hip-hop talk it aint that serious. There arent any legends here this doesnt spill over into my every day life. And ive never asked you for porn or comics or anything so dont even bother trying that tired argument.
2. I said from the jump that i wanted a Miz face turn. Im happy he finally did it suits him better. If it didnt pan out then whatever. Ryback ive never said an ill word against. Happy for his push too. Im the guy who is against ratings talk because its so fukking stupid to begin with. But thats your bread and butter for whatever reason. For as much time as you spend with it you think you owned a controlling share of the company or something.

I don't care about honestly thinking right now. The numbers show he topped everyone during a hyped CM Punk celebration. Period. Dissing the Miz doesn't make me mad. It just proves my point really from what I said at the start.
Now numbers matter? They always did. When Rock broke records, it counted. When Cripple H bombed in 2003, that counted. When CM Punk got horrible buyrates and ratings for a year, it fukking matters. He's doing interviews talking about change and putting asses in seats. How many asses were missing in that tarped off arena on Monday?
Where is this "People wanted to see Miz". shyt, Miz was on Raw when Rock was on Raw last year and easily had a higher average rating than CM Punk's reign if you want to play that card and discredit. Just like any big number that is associated with Punk comes from Vince/Rock/Cena. shyt, even AJ did better than that this summer. People think AJ getting all of this screen time came out of nowhere. She's getting screen time because when she was ending Raws during the Bryan/Punk program that revolved around her, they were increases by the 700k margin.

I didn't start getting on anything 3 years ago. I knew of Punk from 2004 when the PW pundits used to brag him up even though there was no proof that he was as good as touted. The ROH sold out angle is where he proved his mantle in 2005. I knew this but TSC didn't. They were shocked by his reaction in Hammerstein and I wasn't because NY likes to act as if they get behind underdogs at times.
