Jimbo record is different than Day. A&M money is different than most anybody.

I agree. But even Tressel didn't recruit at this level consistently. He was getting to that point before the tattoo-gate.

The name/brand is gonna sell itself. It's about leadership, strategy, and team/coach identity now at this point.
Take my Titans in the league for example. When Vrabel was coach & we had a mini run for a few years of making the playoffs, were usually out talented by the other side but always in most of our games cuz team took on his identity, and would have wins against teams like Chiefs, Patriots, Bills and etc when least expected.
Now that he's gone, we have no identity (currently being rebuilt) & it's a cesspool.

OSU will always recruit well but with a new coach it's a question of how well (top 3 classes vs top 10 classes) But we've seen schools like Miami and usc and Florida go from top 3 classes every year to more like top 15-20. There's def a big difference from a top 3 class year in and out vs being at or near the top 10 level.
Not saying that would be the case, but it's possible.
