I guess Vampire movies are making a comeback since the "Twilight" Saga left the big screen. I remember seeing "Dusk Till dawn" in the Theater in the 90's, it was dope but the sequels were weak. This is more of a period piece and that took place in modern times . Also "Devil in a Blue Dress" was fire. That's why I said I loved Black Cinema in the 80's and 90s more because they were taking a lot risk.
Vampire films haven't been doing too hot at the Box Office with "Morbius, Abigail and the Last Voyage of Demeter" all pretty much bombing. So it is a niche genre but the setting is what makes more interesting than those. "Morbius" was a mess and nobody cares about watching Spidey Villians outside of Venom. "Abigail" was a good concept but a hard sell. "The Last Voyage of Demeter' deal with Dracula which that story has been done countless times. They kept the budget in check so we'll see how it does.
