Fair enough but Ben chapter closed and Russ got a lot of career left and I'm sure will break many more records

I'm not saying that Russ won't be a top 15 QB of all time when it's all said and done. What I've been saying is that he's not one right now and that there are other QBs with MVP accolades (Regular season and Superbowl) that I'd put ahead of them. Those type of accolades do matter whether people want to admit it or not as that's how it goes when you're comparing in the sports world.

Even if he's outside top 15 "right now" that doesn't make him not a all time great qb

But it depends on your criteria. Ryan Clark is corny cuz the other week he was saying Russ been carrying Seattle since LOB

He's not wrong. Russ is a very good QB but calling him an all time great would be a stretch.

Drew Brees has a SuperBowl MVP. Dan Marino has a regular season MVP as well. It matters in the topic of viewing someone’s entire body of work. People are full of shyt if they sit here and act like they shouldn’t matter.

Nikkas on here have no problem using rings and MVP to justify why Jordan is better than Bron and comparing NBA greats, but it’s an issue when you use it in football as a barometer to Wilson legacy. Cats even always talk about how Steph Curry doesn’t have a Finals MVP, so it’s disingenuous to act like it shouldn’t be used in other sports.

You could make the valid argument that he is better Aikman, but again he has a Super Bowl MVP. Russ was rather mehhh those two SuperBowl performance wise and that fact doesn’t change.

Bro I didn't say I had a problem using accolades, I said there are guys in thus thread using them to shyt on Russ when guys without certain accomplishments they are ranking higher...

I just said whole body of work, at his best Russ has played like the best player in football. I can go back to his coming out party in 2015 when he ascended as an elite quarterback, up to his play the first half to most of 2020. He certainly isn't without flaw but his entire body of work validates his credibility as an All-Time great...

1.)Brees is the 4th best QB of his own time, he’s not some lock mt Rushmore top 6.

2.)Dan Marino was the best player in the league at his peak, Russ can’t say that.

When did Brees become a Rushmore GOAT

:russ:

I said Brees is arguably Rushmore, not set in stone. I personally feel he's the 5th greatest QB ever---->for me it's Brady, Montana, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, with a healthy gap between Manning and Rodgers---->and most QB lists have him in the top 6-7 historically. So yes, he has a case you can make for him as #4 GOAT...

And Dan Marino is overrated as shyt, time has completely swept some of his worst performances and chokes away. He was Rodgers before Rodgers, a regular season assassin who routinely played substandard in the Second Season.

Ben isn't a top 15 QB of all time

Even if he isn't it's debatable, there haven't been 20 quarterbacks to play the position better in the history of the NFL, and for that matter, there haven't been 20 greater than Wilson either...

So many of us are devaluing that we have grown up in and been able to see the NFL's Golden Age of quarterbacking. The post-2000 NFL has been flooded with All-Time QBs to an unprecedented degree the first 80 years of league history didn't reach...

That's a subjective opinion considering the fact that he's never received a single MVP vote before at a position that's tailored to win or get MVP votes. It goes back to my point of him having yet to put together a full true MVP caliber season. If you want to sit here and use the argument that he's been keeping the Seahawks in contention for so long, then they would reflect when it comes time to determine MVP.

If you think the list is wrong, then make a valid argument for him over the other QBs that I named. I also forgot to add Steve Young to that list and you wouldn't sit here and say that Russ is a better QB than him.

:ehh:

That Walsh/Seifert system just hit different…. And Young really only had about 5 or 6 seasons where he really gave teams that work…. He was fun to watch….
But Bradshaw, Aikman, Graham, Starr, Elway, Brees, Baugh need to come off that list

You’re delusionally stupid if you consider Russ an all time elite tier QB. He’s a tier below.

Who’s great? Uh from this era Peyton, Brees, Brady and Rogers, duh.

Russ ain’t even better than Big Ben. He’s in that tier with Ben, Stafford, Ryan, Rivers, etc.

He’s better than Ben and Brees….
