The whole purpose of the American military budget is to potentially defeat countries like Russia and China. Russia can be significantly weakened without a single American troop being deployed in Ukraine. Putin can't win this without a nuke. Eventually they will take Bakmut but over 10K Russian soldiers would have fallen before the city is surrounded. It's not sustainable.

Keep in mind, the leaders of NATO and the US have intel that is not made public. They have a pretty good idea of the state of the Russian military and Russia internally. The wolves are circling in Moscow; and as long as the Ukrainians continue to inflict catastrophic losses on the Russians, we will give them the tools to do so. The result is the continued destabilisation and turmoil in Moscow. Money well spent.

Yeah, this is a unique opportunity. And taken in the context of strengthening US hegemony overall, both militarily and economically, the ROI is crazy. The rare happenstance when cynical US interests line up really well with maintenance of global security & defense of liberal-democratic values.

This is the big show that everyone my age grew up thinking we would see play out in the 70's and 80's. The West, enthusiastically led by the US correctly see this as a once in a century chance to legitimately take out mother fukking Russia. And the best part is that Russia is inflicting so much damage on itself with terrible planning from top to bottom.

Even if the rest of Europe, S. Korea, Pakistan, Israel and Canada stopped pumping weapons and aid into Ukraine the US would just keep going at it dolo and Russia would still be fukked. There is too much at stake to not see this through to the end. And by "the end" I mean the end of the Russian Federation. I honestly don't see a situation where the West abandons Ukraine. The trajectory thus far has been a rapid escalation in the supply of evermore potent weapons. German tanks are being sent. From Germany. To fight Russia. Let that sink in. Imagine you are a German and have to come to grips with that. This is going to drag out until Putin cries uncle or dies.

And if for whatever reason NATO does get directly involved in combat...
