Interesting Putin def feeling the heat..this seems desperate.
It's like he wants more European enemies so he can justify using nukes....

Two posts from this day 8 years ago.
1. Maps showing how, [on February 2015], Ukraine was winning before Putin sent more forces into the Donbas – including comments about escalation and weapons supplies.
2. @general_ben Hodges saying it's "important to recognise these are not separatists."
Lt-Gen Hodges accused Mr Putin of arming and fomenting the pro-Russia separatists. “I think it’s very important to recognise these are not separatists, these are proxies for President Putin,” he said. “It is very obvious from the amount of ammunition, the type of equipment, that there is direct Russian military intervention in the area around Debaltseve.”
He added: “I do worry that if they are successful in Debaltseve, they will shift their attention to Mariupol,” referring to the strategic port city.
“I don’t know that, but I am concerned that that is something that they might do. They certainly have a large number of Russian forces, 10 battalions, on the border of eastern Ukraine.”

The Russians haven't learned a fukking thing.
No, the Ukrainians aren't gonna go running scared when they are sitting behind a sprawling minefield, covered by artillery that is dialed-in to every square meter of the road leading into the city.
No, you are not going to drive into the city with tanks and paperweight IFVs under such stiff, deeply entrenched defense. They should've learned from the first time that trying to attack from the front is a suicide run; but here we are again.
Most importantly...
NO, YOU SHOULD NEVER LINE UP AN ARMOR CONVOY ON A ROAD SO HEAVILY PROTECTED BY ARTILLERY.
With the new offensive about to hit, I fully expect the footage coming out of Ukraine to look much like it did last April: destroyed, burnt-out Russian convoys all over the roads with farmers looting vehicles via tractors.
