I get it, but i do not see an issue with using drone for combat purposes. Does it make a difference if a drone dropping a grenade over a man throwing it? The man is still going to die. Drone use is only going to be used increasingly from now on. Now, if this about regular people arming drones for situations outside of a war then that is a problem.
Well, it's two fold :
- I just don't like that an unmanned machine is facing a soldier. In the spirit of the war, I find it "unfair". I get that asymetrical warfare is fine and that war doesnt have to be fair (don't worry about that) but we really see how badly unbalanced a conflict becomes when a superpower does it like the US did in Afghanistan. You only risk the machinery and not lives so the risk is only carried by one side making it "easy" to engage for the other one.
- for those small commercial drones, it just blurs the act of engagement to me. Like for example, you're in an active zone and you catch an enemy slipping. If you're a soldier, he has a chance to surrender but if you're a drone, the enemy is as good as dead with no possible exit. And the worse, is that he's not even able to be aware of the threat.

Just my opinion though.
