Preet along with two of his investigators go to Trump Tower to meet Trump. As he walks in someone from the press gaggle says "Preet, are you here to serve Trump a subpoena?" Everyone in the press gaggle laughs. He continues to the elevators, goes to the meeting room and meets Kushner and Bannon. They engage in small talk.

10 minutes later Trump walks in makes a joke "This guy (Preet) gets better press than me." They continue to talk. Trump tells Preet he is tough but fair and wants him to stay. Preet tells Trump he intends to stay and continue to do his job as he has been: independently, aggressively, and apolitically. Goes on to explain (to his podcast audience) the US Attorney serves at the pleasure of the President but doesn't serve the President directly.

He said the meeting went well but noted the only odd thing that happened was in the middle of the meeting Trump asked Preet to write his office and cell number on a yellow pad. He did it even though he thought it was odd because Presidents don't speak directly to US Attorneys.

December 12th he went to Rikers Island one day to investigate excessive force by Prison guards and was told by his assistant that President-Elect called him. He had a discussion with his office if it would be appropriate for him to talk to Trump without an intermediary. Notes Obama NEVER called him. He decides he would return the call Trump back after consulting with his team and after letting head of DOJ transition know before that he didn't think it was appropriate. He said the call went ok. Nothing inappropriate. But it was obvious Trump was trying to cultivate a personal relationship. He hoped that would be the last time Trump called him.

Fast forward to January 18th, the Wednesday before the inauguration, Trump calls Preet again.

You could just as easily post the first tweet in a thread, let everyone know it's a Twitter thread, and save yourself and everyone else time.

I'm on my work desktop most of the time while in this thread, and pages still load slow if there's a bunch of tweets on a page. Especially if there are 10+ tweets in one post, and if someone quotes you on the same page.

Not to mention numerous siren gifs, smileys, links being parsed, and images to load.
