Russia has put Germany in a tough position. They could be heading for recession because of what they call "Putin Blackmailing" them. Russia is not pump faking when they declared "Ruble or Gold, for gas"

Germany would not be complaining of Russia Blackmailing them if they have thought this through.

They sanctioned Russia and then they invoke breach of contract when Russia made the move to declare gas payments must be made in Rubles.

Germany could have just shrug it off, and go elsewhere to get their huge gas needs, but the reality is no one can give them the amount Russia sells them.
