The fact is Russia really can’t do anything. When they first invaded they warned the US against supplying Ukraine with anti tank weapons, the US told them to and gave Ukraine Javelins, NLAW and all types of anti armor weapons.

They warned the US against giving Ukraine long range weapons again the US told them to kick rocks and gave Ukraine HIMARS, and M777, same thing with tanks, Patriot system. Russia got exposed by Ukraine. Ukraine will get fighter jets, Russia will launch a missile barrage for a few days and that will be it.

To be fair, watch this youtube channel with real fighter pilots talking shop. No plane is really obsolete like that when everyone is within visual range and the main bottleneck is pilot ability. That's why debriefing takes so much longer than the actual flight time.



They basically say high-tech planes get "shot down" all the time and lose dogfights during training. That's because at the end of the day, fighter pilots win battles and not engineers. For example, if the public knew the billions of dollars of "shot down" F-22 Raptors during training they'd probably freak out because they thought the plane was unbeatable (Raptors aren't sent out to get into 1v1 dogfights, they're more like a sniper in the air and meant to engage from distance).

That said on another video, same channel, they talk about an F-22 vs a 1960's plane 1v1 in the real world would end up really turning into a fleet of 10 F-22's vs 1 1960's plane because the U.S don't fight fair wars and won't risk a pilot not coming home.

This is another very level-headed, realistic take as it pertains to aerial combat regarding the F-22 (still the most technologically advanced jet out there). Just like anything though, it's not perfect and will find itself in a tough spot fighting for it's life if you take away it's strengths.

USAF currently operates 2000 of them. 25 countries operate them.

It’s currently in production with upgraded avionics and Lockheed Martin can’t keep up with demand
