Look I kinda see things from both angles, fact of the matter stepdads happen all the time, and this relationship is still very fresh so we'll have to see where it goes. Clearly Russell does not have a problem with Ciara and her child. As Black men we should not be clowning Russell for committing himself to the relationship which includes her child, that is admirable. Fact of the matter is regardless of money or status single mothers should not be punished by never being in another relationship. We all make choices in life and we should not have to pay the rest of our lives for them.
But women don't get a free pass either. Fact of the matter is, I know a lot of females posters are living vicariously through Ciara because she is dating a super-star QB with a child and he's a 'good guy'. But fact of the matter is Ciara and a lot Black women have a great tendency to chase after 'edgy or bad boy types' for way to many years in life. I can assure you if Ciara didn't have a kid, she would be cavorting with Future still. Guys like Russell Wilson are 'too nice' and that's one thing if you're in high school but in your 20's you need to start looking for that partner that exhibits habits you build upon. Fact of the matter is women with kids OOW, this relationship gives them hope that someone will 'save' them. This is unrealistic as well. I can go by the old standby and say choose better partners, but once that goes out the window, then it becomes save yourself, and be more selective about the men you pick moving forward.
