He's past his prime, it happens. His misses/turnovers just look bad but they're really just misses/turnovers. A missed shot is a missed shot, doesn't matter if it hits the side of the backboard or goes in and out. He was solid with the Clippers last year up to the playoffs.

Thing is he still one of the most athletic players in league maybe been down now but when he was in LA he was still more athletic than 90% of the league at least.

The problem to me is that he wasn’t athletic enough for his own game anymore. I can’t remember a time where he really had a lay up package, so that above the rim ability really was necessary for him as a driver. You could tell that first year in LA with those really close misses that he mentally thought he still had it. That was like 3 years ago so I imagine it’s just worse now (haven’t watched a ton of nugget ball).
He also had a lot of things happen that you gotta go out your way to research. He had a Giannis level FT routine which had to get shortened. He was a one hand dunker and would dunk pretty violently and I think he’s had a ton of hand injuries accumulate. I remember him being a very high jumper on his 2 motion jump shot, and seemed to shoot on the way down iirc. Losing that lift probably hurt.
Of course all of this is probably stuff that 100s of other players had to adjust to with older age and Russ really didn’t adjust any of it

It’s stupid fans like you that cape for this clown . Averages 4 to’s for his career,shoot 30% from 3 , has all types of defensive lapses but he went to multiple conference finals cuz he played with a top tier player 10 + years agoThat “mvp” he got cuz the media dumb & impressed by stats was the lowest seeded mvp in 40 years

His game is ugly, his jumper is ugly, he is selfish, he makes dumb plays and has a historically low b ball IQ, and he talks a bunch of shyt to fans while playing terribly.
None of the criticism is forced, lame or not is an opinion. There are multiple LEGITIMATE reasons to not be a fan of Westbrook.

Hate is different and there is plenty of it. We talking about a squad player at the end of his career. Why is he getting disproportionate criticism for the Nuggets' issues? Ditto for when he was on the Lakers.

Javale McGee was dumber and he didn't get this level of vitriol. Iverson had tunnel vision majority of his career and gets nothing but love. Anyways, it is what it is.
