drill music and technology that furthers it has done irreparable damage to the black youth, basically chicago street culture and lingo influencing every part of the country. In my teenage years here in Seattle, I didn't know one kid that carried a gun. now it seems like all the teenagers are having gun battles out here. Sometimes I wonder if this was done by design.

You’re naive as hell if you believe that. Most of the rural towns in GA are majority black except for the ones in the mountains & by the coast.

Black people don’t just live in big cities. I’ve researched this countless times as me & wifey are discussing moving to the country to teach. I know for a fact there are majority black areas & schools in the countysides of GA, Bama, the Carolinas, Mississippi & Louisiana. I visit her family in a small, rural all black NC town, I take my mom to eat at this country restaurant in a small black rural town in GA near Macon, & I’ve rode through & performed in many small black rural towns when I was in the band at Alabama State.
The nerve of calling someone naive when you think music is more responsible for crime than poverty :mjlol:

"It's much more complicated to improve material conditions so I'm going to call that cac shyt and blame crime on inherent deficiencies in black people :troll:"

According to your dumbass

A particular genre of music = crime

Poverty =/= crime

And that somehow makes sense in your warped world when there isn't a scholar on the planet that would agree with you.

Now, instead of reading that sentence and doing some reflecting, your ignorant ass is going to get emotional and double down as your type tends to do.

It says rural youth. It ain’t enough black people living out in the country to drill on each other. Blaming the music is corny.

If we drill into the data I wonder how much of the increase is white folks shooting and killing black kids out in the woods.

Do you believe white people are the cause of every single problem in the Black America community?

“Rural” is misdefined. Poverty, public housing, drugs, and all the vices of the big city, have been present in rural towns since the crack era and before. Unless a kid(black or white) is literally living on a farm where the parents give them a regimented lifestyle, then “rural” can be misleading. The same societal ills that have plagued black ppl in this nation in the big cities for decades, have been in “rural” areas for years. They wanna act like it’s black kids on John Deere tractors shooting other black kids. :mjlol:. When I’m reality it’s one poverty stricken block/group/project/apartment building Vs another. The same big city poverty but in a smaller town. And these smaller towns have even less resources than the bigger cities.

I’m aware black folks live in the country. However, none of that lends to this being a gang or drill music problem. According to the article, black youth only make up 10% of the rural population. Just by the numbers, there has to be an element of white/other on black crime for such a drastic increase.

Blaming black on black crime or drill music when it’s not mentioned who the perpetrators are in the article is anti-black victim blaming.

There’s a lot of information missing for anyone to make that conclusion.
They’re talking about rates, not raw numbers so what you’re saying isn’t necessarily true. Since the population is relatively small, a small increase in homicides could greatly increase the rate.

They gave the raw numbers in the article (600+, total, 200+ black). I don’t doubt the rate increase; my argument is there’s nothing in the article that says (or even alludes to) this rate increase is from black on black crime, let alone drill music.

Rural is undefined (what counts as rural? If a black kid’s home address is listed in a rural area, but he just so happens to be killed in the city, does that count?)

Perpetrators are not mentioned

Do accidents count as homicides?

There’s way more information needed for the tired “black on black crime” pearl clutching in here

It depends on where you are in PG. There’s a lot of economic diversity so there’s the wealthy, the middle class and the poor. The further away from DC you are the wealthier it gets. The areas right near DC can be just like any other hood in America

These dudes gotta be from NY & never left the city before talking like that. I see it’s just ignorance now.

They probably don’t have family in the country or never been, & they think rural=farm life, when in reality they’re just cities with more land and less shyt to do.

The fact is the same issues the city has, rural towns have. & they have even less resources or ways to escape poverty like you said.

Macon, GA has had gangs way longer than Atlanta has, for example & their country as fukk.

Gangs are terrorizing everywhere.
