I’m still numb… like… how the fukk did we get here???
Refs brought us here. And we willingly stayed in the car until it was too lateI’m still numb… like… how the fukk did we get here???
I’m stunned and befuddled at Bam just watching the ball dawg
Duncan missing history making 3s…wide open 3s and BAD misses. shyts wasn’t even close to going in.
Jimmy got some more all time performances in him, so that makes me feel good going into game 7.
But either Bam or Lowry gotta step tf up
To much damm coasting from Jimmy this is the playoff with a trip to the finals on the line & dudes playing like its a regular season gameI'm not trying to hear anyone blame roleplayers. This is on Jimmy & Bam. Duncan missed some shots. Whatever. He still kept them in the game late and wasn't hesitating when given the opportunity.
If Jimmy & Bam bum asses actually came to play, this is a completely different game. Don't wait until 3 minutes left in the game to start caring.
If this team take this huge of an L you can't bring this team back straight up there has to be some type of big move
We seen enough playoff performances now that this small ball & Bam at center thing does not work well in the playoff you need a legit big next to Bam that can do the dirty work Bam can't do
Beyond that, Pat cannot let spo keep his job if they lose tomorrow. Let’s look at spo since 2015-16:Bro, I’m blowing everyone up except are scouts and talent development squad. Concession stand workers, towel boys, camera people, etc
shyt I’m still mad at him for refusing to bench mike Bibby in the finals & leaving James Jones on the bench for the series in a year where he won the 3 point shootout against a team that primarily played zone defense while Joel Anthony was in the starting 5 and of the 3 guys he brought off the bench, 1 was a wing with 2 broken thumbs & the other was an undersized power forward coming off a 6 month absence with a lisfranc fracture. He’s lost or nearly lost a lot of games & series doing dumb shyt that was inexcusable in real time. 2012 he nearly lost the conference finals by having a 6’8 player (haslem) front a 7 footer in the post to try denying him the ball and letting a super old Garnett nearly average 20 a game while not even playing a pace of 87 possessions per game. He nearly lost game 6 of the 2013 finals putting a clearly not healthy Wade back into the game with 3 minutes and change to go when they were rolling with shooters on the floor and the spurs largely ignored Wade since he wasn’t able to do much all game with his bad knee (he finished a -18 in 31 minutes in regulation). Then he also got smoked the following year in the finals. We shouldn’t of been here in the first place but now we are looking at the biggest collapse in sports history
Spo needs to be fired after this just has to after this
Seems like the media is afraid to criticize him for some reason.Beyond that, Pat cannot let spo keep his job if they lose tomorrow. Let’s look at spo since 2015-16:
2015-16: lose in game 7 vs Toronto in large part because he plays a 6’6 teenage rookie perimeter player at center & the team gives up 20 offensive rebounds.
2016-17: start the year 11-30 & are the worst or 2nd worst offense in the league in that stretch. Finishing the year 41-41 was fools gold.
2017-18: barely over .500, 22nd in offense, the team looks lifeless until they trade for Wade. Then they get smoked in the playoffs by Philly.
2018-19: 39-43 record, 26th in the league in offense.
2019-20: after a hot start they go 23-18 over the next 41 games before the Covid shutdown & win just 3 of 8 in the bubble to finish the year by winning just 26 of their last 49 regular season games before a totally shocking finals run whose conditions can’t be replicated.
2020-21: barely over .500 on the year, below average offense again, swept in the first round. Their last 3 losses are by 34, 29, & 17. As ugly an end to the season as they’ve ever had. Even the 2013-14 spurs didn’t dish out a beat down that bad in any game in the finals as games 2 & 3.
2021-22: first 50 win season since 2013-14 & their offense is actually good for a change. They got the 1 seed and proceed to lose 3 home playoff games to Boston with a rookie coach.
2022-23: the same core team as the previous year finishes barely above .500 & is nearly dead last in every offensive category but free throw shooting percentage (the only category on offense they aren’t bad at). Finished the year with a negative point differential and played I think 39 games decided by 5 or less. Couldn’t close out games all year. Now they’ve blown a 3-0 lead (when only 2 teams since the 60’s even got pushed to a game 7 after taking a 3-0 lead and not since 2003) again to Boston with another rookie coach with a pair of blowout losses along the way and lost 2 of 3 home games this series. Had a 61-52 lead in the 3rd quarter of game 4 at home and get outscored 64-37 the rest of the way before games 5-6.
Someone needs to be held accountable if they blow it again. For me spo is bordering on Brian cashman territory of needing to go and he (cashman) should’ve been fired 19 years ago.
