"Pat Riley lost touch a long time ago. Miami Heat has given horrible contracts to Hassan Whiteside, Dion Waiters, Tyler Johnson, Duncan Robinson, Kyle Lowry among others. In all cases, paying a lot of money than the players in the real market value. Hope Tyler Herro develop in some one good. It's like no one wanted to come play in Miami. The only positive thing about this day that he did not use first pick of the draft"

“But the teams at the top of the East bolstered their rosters. The first-place Boston Celtics added three-point shooting big man Mike Muscala, the second-place Milwaukee Bucks acquired former Heat forward Jae Crowder in a trade with the Nets and the third-place Philadelphia 76ers landed forward/center Jalen McDaniels from the Charlotte Hornets. Some of the teams just behind the Heat in the East standings also were active ahead of the trade deadline. The seventh-place Knicks added guard Josh Hart from the Portland Trail Blazers and the eighth-place Atlanta Hawks acquired forward Saddiq Bey in a multi-team trade.”

Everyone improved except the Heat. We were once 1 shot away from the finals but are now 10,000 shots away. The only option I see is to just tank to be honest. Trade Jimmy away for some either young players in the offseason before he gets too old and we can’t trade him away and have to pay him 51 million. I used to have faith in the front office at least being able to get rid of bad contracts but now we’re stuck with Lowry and Duncan for this playoff push.
No one ever seems to want our assets or picks and we always seem to strike out on free agency lately expect on Butler. We’ve failed to get KD 3 times now. We are gonna get him when he’s 38 at this rate. Failed to get Mitchell. Failed to get Giannis. Failed to get Kyrie 2 times. Even failed to get Gordon Hayward (phew on that one). Bradley Beal and Lillard seem content with losing forever. What whale is there to go hunting for and if one appears our harpoons are too short.
To improve this past offseason or midseason we failed to grab any of the guys the Heat were “interested” in acquiring or could have helped especially at PG or PF. No Jeremi Grant, DLo, Bey, Collins, Woods, Vanderbilt, Reed, Crowder etc.
So how will next season be any different from this season? We will still have the same untradable assets. We will still be hoping and praying that Bam becomes Superman and has to carry an aging Jimmy plus a roster full of undrafted players. We are screwed. I mean this is Miami that can’t attract talent?
