So listening to Hot 97 rundown of Rza vs DJ Premier and they went over the lyrics of Rza produced song for Notorious B.I.G. "Long Kiss Goodnight", which starts with the infamous

• "I make your mouthpiece obese like Della Reese"
• Rosenberg looks up picture of Della Reese, clearly in her older days, and makes a joke..cornball ass.

Anyway, I look her up myself, and see of course pics of what I remember her as originally, when I first got to know her which was "Touched by an Angel " TV show on CBS back in the mid 90s...and yes indeed...she was big boned...I only remember her as big boned upper middle aged/senior woman

Then I see this picture from her younger days like ....she was hella attractive in her young woman days.

Even before she ballooned up, she was nice looking middle aged lady.

That's my comment.

Question is who was dealing with Young Della back in her hey day?? What was she up to??

I think I told this story on here before. The Isleys used to hang with Wilson Pickett back in the day who was a certified goon. They went on a hunting trip once and the Isleys got hungry. Pickett refused to leave becuz he hadn’t killed anything yet so the Isleys left him out there and headed back to the lodge. Pickett was so pissed off they left him that when he got back he grabbed his pistol and fired shots thru the door of the room one of them was staying in

I used to work with this dude who told me about his frat brother who managed a hotel in LA. Apparently Eddie Murphy, Arsenio, Magic Johnson and sometimes Johnny Gill would get rooms there a lot and party

Sometimes they had women with them and sometimes they didn’t


Arsenio always came off as gay to me anyway. I remember when his show used to come on we would always trip off how giddy he was when Eddie was a guest. He would be all googly eyed and giggling like a girl every time Eddie spoke. There was another episode when Magic was a guest right after he tore his hamstring and Arsenio was acting the same way he did when Eddie was there

I see there’s some Paul Mooney mentions in this thread too. He was a guest on Arsenio’s show a lot. I noticed as a kid that he had some feminine mannerisms but didn’t really understand the whole gay thing yet. Looking back tho Arsenio has a lot of the same mannerisms

But after reading this thread and remembering shyt from back in the day I wouldn’t be surprised at all. Plus it’s no secret Magic was fukking every thing. He was smashing groupies in the locker room during halftime of Lakers games. I’m sure a lot of people went out and got tested when he came out HIV positive

I remember when this thread was first made but I never read the whole thing till today. One of the best threads ever on here. That Kriss Kross and ABC beef got me tho. I was 10-11 at the time so I stanned both. Never got the connection till today
