:ld:

Just wanna remind people that before John went down with the injury and this match was still on the cards people's reaction was :patrice:at best to it.
When he had the streak intact and Cena was still the company main event guy to go over everyone, maybe it was something to look forward to but I think in many people's minds despite it being the far lesser impressive match, Sting and Taker was the thing people were still hoping for (Cause lbr casual fans just want the smoke and mirrors show of the moment of them coming face to face like some comic book movie shyt:dame:)

I don't know who you're referring to as "people". Only "people" who would get wind of that match going down before its actually announced are the smarks that check out dirt sheets and they damn sure aren't the ones WWE are trying to please

Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, I do wonder if the casual fan who gives you millions of buyrates and tickets goes "Yeah but they wrestled before right? They must have? They still haven't? Isnt it a bit too late?" if you ask them now though.

That's 100% smark thinking, why would that question ever even come across a casual fan's mind? They wouldn't watch a match just because the possibility that the two have fought before makes it less special? :dahell: Sequels and rematches to everything sell like hotcakes, why would that be a problem in wrestling (especially when Cena and Taker never even wrestled outside of those few spats in 03)

You can when it's been the same people opening raw for 20 minutes the last 15 years, and the champion of your company is 46 years old and hasn't wrestled in over a year and only comes in when it's convenient for him(see Punk 2011)

I don't particularly disagree with that sentiment, I'm just saying its an odd thing to bring up when Reigns' face is right there and has been the centerpiece of this year's Mania booking (and last)

I know, because it can't be argued. It's good to stand down on this one. What, is Cena gonna just show up at WM and pull a Bray? :lolbron: What would the feud even be about. Nah, people just want to see old ass Taker wrestle every year, huh?

9705a4dc_Gary-Coleman-wtf.gif

First you lack serious imagination if you're asking "what would the feud even be about". Its fukking pro wrestling why is that even a question?? If you want proof that a Cena/Taker match would draw (once again why one would need proof is befuddling in the first place) just look up any Undertaker video on Youtube, then any John Cena video on Youtube, and then search up any "john cena undertaker" video, and bring back to me the view counts. Go outside and ask anybody to name 5 pro wrestlers they know and report back to me their answers. Go to your local thrift shop and check out how many bootleg WWE shirts got Cena and Taker's faces all over them. Do a Twitter search for "cena taker" and show me any negative reactions to it. Aight, cool

Casual fans? Sounds more like you're talking about kids

Kids ain't the ones purchasing anything.

Fact is, there is no intrigue in this match in 2016. No matter who wins or loses, nothing is gained or loss.

Fans who grew up on mid-2000's wrestling aren't kids anymore, and the parents of those who are growing up on today's wrestling purchase the product fervently.

And there's intrigue revolving around every Undertaker match in 2016

Cena vs. Taker is fine. It's a spectacle match that Mania needs.

HHH vs. Reigns gets booed out the building if they try to make Reigns some ultra babyface.

@WatergunTalk Instead of trying to sell this dumbass match to us, why don't you do a spot poll right here. Ask how many want to see this old and flabby ass match Co Main Event this year. You're telling us that we should suspend story lines and wrestling tropes because this is printing money.

Let's see :feedme:

:what:???? So now TSC represents every wrestling fan's opinion in the world huh? If the TSC poll says no then that must mean the match won't draw :mjlol: Why would I make a poll here when its blatant this board for some reason just doesn't fukk with the match? And how you just gonna ignore everything I told you and say some dumbass shyt like that and not refute any points I made

That's not really true is it? We argue constantly here. If you can't trust the sample of talent here, you shouldn't be able to book your Dream Match. It has no steam. There's casuals here, as well as smarks and marks. Some would even vote when they chill in other forums.

What are you scared of? Bashing others is one thing, I'm more of a results oriented type of dude. In this same thread, you were able to feel the temperature, and it wasn't all cold.

Okay but you think a few weeks before the event casual audiences will care all that much for a Cena vs Taker match given how saturated both are in people's minds, have had matches against each other before and (This is the biggest one) the whole build will be on some vanilla promos about respect shyt?

Oh how you forget the lackluster for Rock vs Cena 2 and Rock vs Hogan 2
And Cena and Taker have wrestled more than just a few spats. You had their Smackdown matches in 2003, 2004 and then again 2007 and 2008 which are all over youtube . Now you said after that their vids together have viewcounts in the millions (Well one does the Raw match) but that only lends credence that a lot of people have seen it before and at this point at best it would be a Triple H-Taker type deal which depending on your viewpoint of that feud would only be good when we get to the actual match, which would be high comedy of Taker doing MMA moves and Cena doing PWG moves:mjcry:

There's no bubble lol. Bashing me ain't gonna answer the question. There's claims that people really want to see this shyt, and you're running your opinion based on "twits" who dikkride for attention like autistic buzzards?? :russ:

Alright chickenshyt, I'll put up a poll.

Edit... I'm not putting up shyt. I don't have anything to gain putting my name and exposure out there for this shyt. It'll just be about trying to show you something you should see already. Very few people have REAL interest in this shyt.

It's better played in a video game.

Casual fans don't even tune in to Raw weekly I highly doubt they'll care as to how good the build is. Moderately hardcore fans that might be an issue but I just don't see how a Cena vs Taker match/buildip, two of the top 5 draws in the company right now, wouldn't garner viewers off name alone. And the matches they had in 07/08 weren't feuds, just random one offs on like a Draft show or something, and in their 03 feud Cena was obviously not a star yet and Taker wasn't in his present legend

And if you think the possibilities for the buildup to that match are limited to none check out this video

Takers not retiring this year I think so that element is out of it but that just shows there's a bounty of directions they can go with it. A Cena/Taker snapshot where it's their two faces nose to nose is the shyt they make fake YouTube vid thumbnails off of and videogame covers and fan art for
