Has the quality of PS+ games been reduced ahead of Spartacus

He saying that Tiny Tina game that's free this month is a DLC for Borderlands 2 that was included in the Handsome Jack collection that at one time was a PS+ included game. They did carve out a section of Godfall and make it a PS+ game so I wouldn't be surprised.

I just saw Persona 5 Strikers as PS+ game which I wanted so I snatched that up.

Bro I am not denying that but those games 95 percent of them are single player games. Those titles are not good for a subscription base method that Sony is trying to copy. Bro you and I both know once we beat Last of Us etc... We are not touching that shyt ever again. Sony need to diversify their products man to the previous PS2 days. Where are the shooters, RPGs, kid games, platformers, etc... They lost their way trying to make video games premier movie experiences that they forgot the other games that made them successful.

They are spending 300 million plus to develop single player games that last 10 to 20 hours and those games were not the reason of their success. Most PS gamers buy multi-plats. Sony exclusives don't sell compared to units of system sold. shyt is a bad investment. They relied on third party games to bring people into the ecosystem for their 3-to-4-year development titles.

PS4 sold over 100 million titles and Last of Us last time I checked barely scratch 7 million copies sold last year.

You say it will fail because they’re making single player games, but your solution is

More games from the days they barely even had online capability, let alone a service? You coulda at least used SOCOM :heh:

When I mean making those games again those games in this era will be multiplayer.

I totally agree.
Sony used to have a much more diverse lineup of first party titles. In the PS3 days a crowd started to gather around these first party titles that were AAA story focused single player games and as time went on Sony was more than content to let others do the heavy lifting in other styles of games as they went further and further into that type of game.

Now we've reached the third party acquisition phase and their first party lineup while filled with all these blockbuster AAA games lacks that variety that it had long ago.

I remember the days Sony was adventurous enough to let a JRPG like Wild Arms happen under their watch. Present day Sony isn't going for that. They even let those Resistance and Killzone style games go. They aren't making a Socom. Most of their big titles are from studios that aspire to make these movie like games. Even the tacked on multiplayer modes have been lessened like on the Uncharted 4 Remaster. Last of Us 2 came out without one.

The obsessive focus on making those blockbuster AAA single player story based games needs to be cut back. If these other companies that make the variety of titles that Sony enjoyed to fill out their lineup could be gobbled up then Sony is going to need to fill in those gaps themselves. If Call of Duty is going away and PS gamers like to play it then they need to make their own game to fill that void.

Sony is more or less hyper focused on a certain style of game and they rely on third parties to fill out their roster. PlayStation gamers are satisfied because they buy the system and they can get all the multi-platform games as well as the Sony exclusive games. Those multi-platform games are no longer safe because large publishers are getting bought out. It's going to be up to Sony to diversify their lineup past these AAA single player movie like games. They have a war chest of defunct IPs to choose from.

Competition can be a beautiful thing. I have a PS5 because of Sony's exclusives, but this will force them to diversify a bit. While they don't have the screw you money Microsoft has, they still have a war chest, and it's enough for hungry developers out there who want to prove themselves and make their name in the industry. I think the big thing is that they also have to put a focus on PC releases as well.

Think it's pretty clear they are going to go all-in on whatever exactly this is, judging by what Jim Ryan has been saying post-Budgie acquisition. Whatever about BC/Legacy stuff, I think we can expect a lot of MP day one games on this over the coming years.

That might be to the displeasure of some but it's for the best. They need brands and experiences they can rely on to be around.

Yep, looks like sony is gonna come out swinging on this. I foresee almost everything launching day 1 except for the big boys, (spider-man, horizon, god of war, wolverine, etc.) and there might be a 6 month deal on them.

I don't see any major companies willing to sell to Sony until they show that they can thrive in this new environment because Microsoft has now shown willingness to go nuclear. Companies aren't trying to be on the losing side if they don't have to be.
