what happens when you look at films as only products and not art which ironically is one of the things HBO hasn't done that has led to their rep being what it is

Why not both? Art can't be made without money being made as well.
Dude made a call as the head honcho you don't have to like it but he made sense talking about making 100 million dollar movies for streaming services is dumb. Not enough people are subbing to a streamer to watch Batgirl is his reasoning. It's not totally insane.

the problem is suits rarely see both as an ideal approach and as time has shown, they'll go with the bottom line in regards to decision making 11 out of 10 times. This guy seems like he's itching to dumb down the product in the name of profits and that's what mostly comes out of seeing films as products...dumbed down algorithm approved trash.

Yeah I can agree with that. But in the case if Batgirl specifically it's most likely not that deep either way.

Titans is steaming hot garbage and deserves to die.
Doom Patrol has been one of the best comic book shows on TV since it debuted and deserved more love from fans but I never expected to get more than 3-4 seasons out of it.
