I don't understand why the Rockets drafted him, I really don't. I'm not convinced that someone else would have been prepared to take him in the 1st round. If Perry Jones and Jared Sullinger can fall in that draft, then no way White should have been in the 1st. Dude is an extreme risk. Why would you even put your organization in the position of drafting a player who has extreme troubles just getting on an airplane?
Royce's story was not meant to be "the guy who made the way for athletes in the NBA with mental disorders". His story was meant to be "That guy who could have been the next ______ _______ except he had extreme anxiety issues and no one wanted to take a chance on that"

I just think he wants to be closer to home and thinking that if he's closer, then he can manage his problems a little better. He probably thought he could wind up in a spot in the midwest and be ok, and then when teams looked elsewhere he grew disenchanted with the process. He has his anxiety issues. I think he's using it as a shield to get out of his situation.

When he was at the combines, that man was so happy. He was flying then. He was going from interview to interview. The scouts and reporters threw everything at him, questioned him about everything. That man had such a big ass smile on his face going from team to team, to the point where you forgot he had legit anxiety issues. At some point, that fool got so disenchanted with the process, that the Grantland video everyone's seen was such a departure from how he was feeling even a week prior. It's hard to go from "wow, Golden State scouts are looking at him at high as #7 " to "nobody but McHale's crazy ass wants you, and he's just the coach" based on a preexisting condition everyone knew about. Mind you, the talent level he has, only a handful of players were even touching on draft night.
Time came to go to camp, shyt got real for him, he expected the team to bend over backwards for him, the team (depending on who you believe) tried, and he's refusing their help and instead bytching about everything. Is he even trying to rectify the situation?
It's a shame, because Royce was NASTY in Summer League.
