He defends Nas a lot online so I dont think its a slight for him not to be in his top 5 or some other motive. Some people just make their lists on the spot

I see Lupe lightweight "forgets" Nas a lot too, at least as of late (he used to be a stan), when mentioning the best and all that he leaves Nas out. Crooked I made reference to Nas falling off a couple years ago. Etc...

I think these guys all came up Nas stans but due to his output lyrically the last decade, give or take a few years, they all bumped him down a lot of notches. I'm against letting people shine just off of their name alone so I'm not mad at them if that's how they feel, but you can't just completely erase everything he did prior to you feeling like he fell off some and strictly judge his career based off of his recent shyt when determining the greatest ever, that doesn't even make sense.

I noticed it a little a few years ago (2017-2019), with King's Disease it hasnt brought him all the way back in their books but people still praise him and praise him for that.

I mean I get it, theres this interesting time right now where a lot of older vets are still rhyming at an elite level. Guys like Jay, Royce and Black Thought are probably leading that and people have been overcritical of Nas prior to KD. So I think their names get elevated and re-evalutated a lot more to be higher on lists. But I am seeing after KD plus the singles/features hes done this year people also seeing hes still got it and his longevity. so I guess it just depends on what side of the bed people wake up on on that day

At least I can say its not sus like when 9th Wonder does it and we all know why:pachaha:

Even if you're not the biggest post-2002 Nas fan like that...look at his work from 94 to 02, that alone should have him cemented in the Top 10, maybe Top 5.
Nas was putting out verses of the year all the way up until like 2013. So it can’t be his lyrical output after 02. That’s goofy. That nikka was lyrically better on SD than on God’s Son if u wanna keep it an 100% stack. Same way Jay was lyrically better on Black Album than on Blueprint. I don’t think that’s what it is. nikkas always keep Jay at the top even tho his lyrical efforts after 06 been on and off as well. Like Kingdom Come wasn’t lyrically crazy. But American Gangster was. Then the next 2 albums in BP3 and ESPECIALLY MCHG(which was his worst lyrical performance in his career). 4:44 was decent lyrically but nothing to write home about. He been spazzin within these last couple years tho.

I think it's about what's freshest on the mind, like I said...they're overly-factoring in his recent shyt when talking about the G.O.A.T.... imo. In the last 3 years from Nas we have Nasir, LT2 and KD...lyrically all of these are, generally speaking, extremely mid (KD is fire but it's more so musically fire than showcasing his skills fire). I didn't even want to bring up Jay-z...but if you look at Jay-z's recent shyt, he is still super nasty, sharp af with the bars/flows, etc... Jay Elect did his thing on that album and Jay-z still pretty much owned the album, lol, showed there's levels.

So yeah, first impressions are important but last impressions are much more lasting, fortunately or unfortunately.

I felt Nas was lyrically dope on LT2 and also he had one of the best verses of the year with Echo on top of his verse on Dave East shyt. Godfather 4. I feel u on the Jay shyt but like I said before. When Jay was dropping mid shyt lyrically. He STILL never left the discussion. U get what I’m saying? nikkas would rather put a dude on the list who been pretty much trash for like 20 years straight. And another in a top 5 with zero classic albums to his name. Lol. Ionno man it’s just weird to me. No hate because I don’t believe Royce is slighting Nas at all. But I also don’t believe it’s Nas’ fault in any way either.

Dude you seem to be creating a narrative and vibe that is clearly not there

Lupe does not forget nas, he priases nas and even mentioned IWW as a album that more artist should strive to make it.

Your trying to damn hard in here.
