If the rumor is true the money the promoter betted against Roy was 1 million dollars. So that's basically the 1 million he paid for Roy debts.

Hryunov Blames Team Klitschko For Roy Jones Jr. Allegations - Boxing News

By Vadim Pushkin Russian promoter Vladimir Hryunov has accused the Klitschko brother, Wladimir and Vitali, and their team, of spreading rumors that he placed a large wager on Enzo Maccarinelli to defeat former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. According to certain outlets, Hryunov allegedly bet as much as 1 million on Maccarinelli, who brutally knocked Jones out in four rounds.

The rumors may have caused a rift between Hrynunov and Jones. The Russian promoted staged last Saturday’s card and also helped Jones become a Russian citizen. Hryunov lashed out, blaming the Klitschkos for the controversy. He claims it was payback for hinting that Wladimir may have thrown his fight with Tyson Fury. “Over the past three days, I was subjected to provocation by the promotional company of the Klitschko brothers,” said Hryunov.

“At one time, I became aware and established facts that during the fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury, there many bets that came down on Tyson Fury to win and I was told about this by a friend of mine from England, promoter Frank Warren. “Now the company of the Klitschko brothers have organized this provocation with more political overtones that I allegedly put the money on Roy Jones to lose.” - See more at: Hryunov Blames Team Klitschko For Roy Jones Jr. Allegations - Boxing News

We all have personal responsibility and shyt in this world but it truly is disheartening when you see somebody who became a legend in their field and dedicated DECADES of work and did everything and they ended up with no money to show for it. I'm truly :to: thinking of cats like Tyson, Jones, Lil' Wayne, etc., etc., seeing as they ended up with no financial security from their legacies (even though the blame is certainly on them as well, something must be said for the fact that these cats were basically steered into their careers before they were even teenagers and therefore had to be dependent on others to watch out for them financially and we all know how that goes).

i wouldn't worry about mike tyson....dude blew 300 milly but dude will never want for money....there are a lot of people looking out for him on top of his entertainment endeavors

Them commentary jobs are basically normal media journalist jobs so he probably gets like 75K which ain't sh!t once they take the taxes out. Especially from Roy somebody who used to get 3-5 million being an HBO fighter. He's highest he's ever gotten was 10 million guaranteed for the Ruiz fight. Which isn't anything to the kind of figures that Mayweather and other Al Haymon's fighters get today.

Roy definitely blew his money not paying attention and doing bad investments over the years. He still has plenty of business deals going on using his name and like in the USA etc.

Many boxers owe the IRS so it's not far fetch, when you got somebody else handling that for you and it doesn't get done. I heard Floyd even with all the money he makes be owing the IRS.
Who else is getting paid like that ? :ohhh:

Yep, they dedicated their lives with an unfathomable amount of training and hard work only for all the vultures around them to be eating, whether it is the car lot salesman, the real estate agent, the accountant or financial advisor, or the baby mommas. I don't know how many of these athletes need to go broke before the future generation 'gets it'.
